  • Patent number: 10564272
Abstract: A system (800) includes an acquisition engine (837) that acquires ultrasound data for two or more modes with a first acquisition algorithm, including an image mode and a special mode. A rendering engine (834) employs a first rendering algorithm and displays the image in a main display window (902) and the special mode ultrasound data in a viewport (906) superimposed over the main display window. The acquisition engine acquires ultrasound data for the special mode using a second acquisition algorithm and the rendering engine displays a first portion of the generated special mode ultrasound data over the main display window and a second portion of the generated special mode ultrasound data over the viewport using a second rendering algorithm in response to the system receiving an input signal indicative of a movement of the viewport from a first location of the main display window to a second different position of the main display window.

  • Patent number: 9279842
Abstract: An assembly and a method for determining a change in capacitance in a cable, such as a change caused by a deformation of the cable. The deformation may be caused by a deforming element attached to the cable and slideable along the cable. The deforming element may be adapted to be compressed by a user and convert the compression force into a compression of the cable so as to cause the capacitance change. The assembly may form part of a headset and the deformation may be used to control a media player or mobile telephone used with the headset.

  • Publication number: 20140324335
Abstract: An apparatus and a method of informing a user of a POI (point of interest) having a boundary, the method comprising providing information relating to the POI, while the user is outside the boundary and, when the user is inside the boundary, providing information to the user relating to positions of sub POIs inside the boundary. Preferably, when the user is inside the boundary, no information relating to POIs outside the boundary is provided, and when the user is outside the boundary, no information relating to sub POIs is provided.

  • Publication number: 20140221017
Abstract: A method includes: establishing an observation using a geographic observation unit, wherein the act of establishing the observation comprising establishing a geographic point of observation and a direction of observation; obtaining uncertainty data associated with the geographic point of observation and/or the direction of observation; establishing a geographic field of observation that is bounded and extending from the geographic point of observation, wherein the geographic field of observation is established based on the uncertainty data and the direction of observation; obtaining a list of records of geographic points of interest as a function of the geographic field of observation; creating a filtered list of points of interest by excluding at least one geographic point of interest that is partially within the geographic field of observation; and providing audible point of interest information associated with one or more points of interest from the filtered list of points of interest.
