  • Patent number: 4830167
Abstract: A device for retaining a body which may be a bicycle wheel includes an automatic locking mechanism normally disposed in inoperative position but moved to operative locking position when the body is moved into place. A manual release mechanism is provided to allow the body to be removed and a coin operated mechanism is also provided to retain the locking mechanism in operative position until a key allowed of removal by actuation of the coin operated mechanism is reinserted and turned. The actuation of the coin operated mechanism blocks operation of the manual release mechanism until the key is reinserted and turned.

  • Patent number: 4665767
Abstract: A bicycle pedal comprising a pedal shaft firmly connectable with a treadle frame of a bicycle, a pedal body rotatably journalled on the pedal shaft and a tightenable foot holder connected with the pedal body.As for safety reasons it is essential that the pedal free the foot of the user when e.g. an accident occurs, such a foot pedal is provided, which is characterized in that the pedal body comprises at least two pedal parts relatively movable between an open position and a closed position, a tightening arrangement is connected with the pedal parts and tightens the foot holder during the movement from the open to the closed position and a manually operable locking arrangement retains the pedal parts in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4541504
Abstract: A weight is guided for free movement in a horizontal plane but is urged to a home position by the transmission mechanism which connects the weight to an actuated device. A ball with a flat face is seated in a cup and has an extension with a further ball received in an upstanding tube on the weight. A plunger with a button face engaging the flat face of the ball is spring urged to force such ball to that position which forces the weight to home position and the actuated device responds to movement of the plunger from such position.

  • Patent number: 4413384
Abstract: A locking device for a safety belt comprising a housing, a spring-loaded lock bolt movable in the housing, a key that can be inserted into the housing and having at least one recess fitting to the lock bolt, an unlocking mechanism, an output element of which engages, upon energization, a control-member of the lock bolt, which is moved out of the recess against the spring force and a blocking mechanism for the output element, with the blocking mechanism comprising a fastening element movable against spring force with respect to the housing, with the fastening element in its rest position releasing the path of the output element and in the displaced position blocking the path.

  • Patent number: 4245376
Abstract: A lock for safety belts having a lock housing secured to a surface of a vehicle and an inner housing slideably located in the lock housing and held therein by spring tension. The lock is also provided with a latch tongue, insertable into the inner housing, and with a latch positioned within the inner housing adapted to engage a depression in the latch tongue under spring loading, with the latch tongue insertable into the inner housing, preventing the withdrawal of the latch tongue therefrom. A release key located on the lock housing is operable from the outside thereof; and said lock further comprises a lever pivotable on a pivot comprising part of said lock housing and engaged by said release key.

  • Patent number: 4214466
Abstract: An apparatus for winding spring wire from a stationary supply spool into a helical or spiral spring. The apparatus is equipped with a rotationally driven winding mandrel having a forward end and being provided with a radial slot at its forward end for the reception of the spring wire. The mandrel is axially movable with the increasing length of a helical or spiral spring, from a withdrawn or forward initial position into a projecting final position. The apparatus further includes a transfer head, having a guide channel, positioned adjacent to the final position of the mandrel and with the guide channel in the transfer head coaxially aligned with the mandrel, for the passage of the spring therethrough. At least one roller compressively biased against the forward end of the mandrel in the final position thereof and is rotatable in a plane passing through the rotational axis of the mandrel; and the transfer head is driven coaxially and synchronously with the mandrel.

  • Patent number: 4126919
Abstract: A coupling device opening a predetermined time after a tractive force exerted thereon exceeds a predetermined limit, said predetermined time starting again if a said limit exceeding tractive force is exerted again before the coupling device is opened. The time being controlled by a mechanical time delay mechanism.
