  • Patent number: 8925484
Abstract: According to the invention, an actuator is provided for a milking installation, wherein the actuator is fixed at a distance to a teat cup cluster and is mechanically coupled to the teat cup cluster via a flexible component so as to incite a stimulating movement of the teat cup cluster on the udder by means of an actuator element. The inventive actuator can also be used to adjust the angle of tilt of the teat cup cluster during milking. The invention also provides a retaining device for teat cups, comprising a fastening device for fixing the retaining device on a predetermined milking position, wherein the retaining device is furthermore formed to maintain, during a first operational phase, every teat cup of a plurality of teat cups in a fixed position relative to each other and to allow manual access to every retained teat cup in such a manner that during a second operational phase every teat cup can be manually moved in several directions relative to the retaining device and at least one additional teat cup.

  • Patent number: 7395780
Abstract: A milk collecting piece comprises a kink element having a bending edge which ensures reliable kinking and thus maintenance of the operating vacuum in milk tubes which are guided outwards in a direction oblique to the longitudinal axis. In one embodiment, the milk collecting piece comprises a connection surface provided with an opening into which an end portion of the milk tube is introduced, so that a reliable function is obtained due to the provision of the kink element, whereby due to the manner in which the milk tube is mounted on the collecting piece, a smaller amount of milk coating collects and deposits on transition areas. In a further embodiment, the bending edge of the kink element is positioned in such a manner that said edge efficiently prevents the milk tube from getting detached from connection elements which are guided outwards in an oblique manner, and ensures vacuum-tight kinking of the milk tube at the same time.

  • Patent number: 6895890
Abstract: An automatic milking plant is provided with a short milk hose, which, due to spaced-apart elevations in its center piece, has sufficient mechanical stability vis-a-vis pressure differences as well as a high flexibility. The use of the short milk hose according to the present invention leads to a reduction of the mechanical strain on the udder and thus also reduces irritations of the animal to be milked.

  • Patent number: 6895891
Abstract: An automatic milking plant includes a teat cup connected via a flexible connection hose to a collecting piece for collecting extracted milk and for transmitting a vacuum required for milking. The collecting piece is provided with a connecting piece for the flexible connection hose. The connecting piece and/or the flexible connection hose are implemented such that the flexible connection hose is stiffened in the connection zone of the connecting piece and that the stiffened region of the flexible connection hose extends beyond a milk-carrying area of the connecting piece in the axial direction. An end of a hose sleeve which faces away from the connecting piece is designed asymmetrically in the longitudinal direction, and the hose sleeve encloses the flexible connection hose at least partially in the area of the connecting piece.

  • Patent number: 6860228
Abstract: The present invention relates to a milking cup comprising a cup sleeve, a teat rubber inserted in the cup sleeve with a head piece and an intake socket connectable with a milk discharge conduit, and comprising an air inlet valve provided on the milking cup and connected with the interior space of the intake socket via a first conduit, which lets atmospheric air penetrate into the intake socket in response to a relief phase, during which a higher pressure causing a folding-in of the intake socket relative to the milking vacuum pending in the milk discharge conduit is generated in a clearance between the cup sleeve and the intake socket. The invention is characterized in that an opening toward the interior space of the teat rubber is provided in the head piece of the teat rubber, wherein the opening can controllably be supplied with atmospheric air in response to the relief phase.

  • Patent number: 6571731
Abstract: An automatic milking machine for the determination of quality of milk during the milking process comprises a distributing valve mechanism with a milk inlet and several milk outlets, a measurement apparatus, and a driving element, whereby the measurement apparatus has a detection means for automatically detecting particles in the milk stream. The driving element drives the distributing valves mechanism, depending on the amount of particles determined to be in the milk, so that milk of diminished quality is selected out.

  • Patent number: 5863349
Abstract: The present invention refers to a device for cleaning milking cups. Known devices of this type have a cleaning element which is adapted to be attached to a milking cup and which is adapted to be used for rinsing the milking-cup interior and for spraying rinsing liquid onto the end face of the milking cup so as to clean the outer surface thereof. The present invention provides an improved cleaning device comprising a cleaning element which is adapted to be attached to the milking cup such that a flow chamber is formed for producing a rinsing flow along an outer surface area of the milking cup which is to be cleaned. By means of this solution according to the present invention, an improved cleaning effect is achieved and the rinsing agent conducted through the flow chamber can then be used for cleaning the interior of the milking cup.
