    Abstract: A motor vehicle includes two drive units for generating driving torque, the driving units being operable jointly as well as individually for generating driving torque. A device is provided for defining a driver's intention, and a control unit is provided for processing the driver's intention and for generating a control signal for controlling the drive units. The device for defining the driver's intention is constructed such that a force stage with an increased restoring force exists within the adjusting range of the device. The control unit is constructed such that, starting out from a driving operation in which only one driving device for generating a positive driving torque is active, when the force stage is exceeded, a change-over from one to the other drive unit, or a connection of the other drive unit, takes place.

    Abstract: A method for establishing a defined active relationship between the operation of the accelerator pedal and the resulting braking torque of a vehicle is provided, in which the possible adjusting range of the accelerator pedal is divided into at least two control ranges. A first control range is defined below a first defined accelerator pedal angle. In the first control range, control elements which can cause a deceleration of the vehicle are controlled corresponding to a defined braking torque course. Preferably, the second control range is defined above a second defined accelerator pedal angle. Between the first and the second defined accelerator pedal angle, a third control range is defined, in which the control elements which can cause a deceleration or an acceleration are controlled such that the braking torque or the drive torque of the vehicle is, in each case, kept constant.

    Abstract: For a vehicle brake system having a brake pedal, a brake booster, a master brake cylinder and an electronically regulatable brake unit arranged between the master brake cylinder and the wheel brakes by which the brake pressure in the wheel brakes can be adjusted independently of the preliminary pressure existing at the output of the master brake cylinder using an electronic control unit, the electronic control unit senses the course of a pedal operating value which is achieved by the brake booster. The pedal operating value is directly proportional to the pedal force applied by the driver by way of the brake pedal. When a predetermined threshold value of the pedal operating value has been reached, the brake pressure in the wheel brakes is generated such that, in the deceleration course, a raised deceleration gradient occurs in the case of a further rise of the pedal operating value in the sense of an increase of the brake booster ratio.

    Abstract: A brake system for motor vehicles according to the invention has a brake power assist unit which generates an output brake power by superimposing an auxiliary power on a control power input by the brake pedal, and a hydraulic wheel brake regulating system which can generate a higher pressure in the wheel brake cylinder than the pressure set by the output brake power. An analysis device recognizes when the ratio of the auxiliary power to the control power falls below a predetermined value, after which a control device causes the hydraulic wheel brake regulating system to generate a desired pressure in the wheel brake cylinders which at least partially compensates the effect on the actual pressure due to the auxiliary power decreasing in relationship to the control power.
