    Abstract: An accurate bandwidth provisioning tool for Internet Service Providers, for both Voice over IP and data traffic, which is able to predict the demand for network resources based on the network traffic characteristics and the number of subscribers after taking into account subscriber growth and other relevant factors. To predict the demand, the tool uses a Gaussian model for Voice traffic, and a Gamma model, or alternatively, a dimensioning formula, for data traffic. The tool also discloses a method of planning Cable television network capacity when converting analog channels to digital channels.
