  • Patent number: 11556352
Abstract: Examples provided herein provide a manner of monitoring performance characteristics of a central processing unit or other instruction executing hardware device and adjusting settings of the central processing unit or other instruction executing hardware device. Performance characteristics can be gathered and stored in a secure memory or storage device. The performance characteristics can be transmitted to a control center using a provisioned network transceiver that does not rely on an operating system executed by the central processing unit or the hardware platform of the central processing unit. The control center can determine settings that are to be applied by the central processing unit or instruction executing hardware device and transmit the settings for use by the central processing unit or instruction executing hardware device.

  • Publication number: 20220417117
Abstract: The present disclosure describes a telemetry redundant measurement avoidance protocol (TRMAP) that solves redundant data collection problems in telemetry systems. The TRMAP can operate in a non-supervised environment and/or in a distributed manner, and does not require a central controller to manage multiple collection agents in one or multiple telemetry systems. The TRMAP can also be an opt-in-based protocol that favors altruistic data sharing and reuse between collection agents. In these ways, the TRMAP provides freedom and collaboration among developers or other entities that desired telemetry data, while allowing non-compliant collection agents to coexist, if possible.

  • Publication number: 20220334906
Abstract: A degraded user experience, such as a user having to wait for an unresponsive application, can be automatically detected and classified. A user experience degradation detection network detects a degraded user experience based on a state of the computing system and a user interaction state. The computing system state can be based on telemetry data provided by the operating system, processor units, and other computing system components and resources, and the user interaction state can be based on user interactions with one or more input devices (e.g., keyboard, touchpad, mouse, touchscreen). A root cause of the degradation event (e.g., hardware, memory, network, or general responsiveness issue) can be classified using a multi-label classifier. An output report can include a snapshot of the system telemetry and user interaction data before, during, and after the degradation event.

  • Patent number: 10983894
Abstract: System and techniques for autonomously adaptive performance monitoring are described herein. A device state may be measured. A measurement set may be located using the device state. A difference set between the measurement set and a current measurement group may be identified. The current measurement group may be changed into a next measurement group using the difference set. A measurement package created during at least one sample period of the next measurement group may be sent to a remote device.

  • Publication number: 20210111974
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to monitor telemetry data associated with computing devices are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a telemetry collector collect a first set of telemetry data to form a telemetry data timeline associated with a computing device, the first set of telemetry data collected based on a policy file, and output a trigger indicative of an operational condition specified in the policy file. The disclosed example apparatus also includes an actuator to collect a second set of telemetry data associated with the computing device in response to the trigger, the second set of telemetry data collected based on the policy file. The disclosed example apparatus further includes a data reporter to report the telemetry data timeline and the second set of telemetry data to a server in response to a request.
