  • Publication number: 20240082749
Abstract: An interactive toy comprising a function device for performing user-perceptible, controllable functions. The interactive toy also includes a rechargeable power source and a charging circuit for contactless receipt of electrical energy and for charging the rechargeable power source when the interactive toy is positioned in a charging zone of a contactless charging device. The interactive toy is adapted to determine a charging rate at respective positions relative to the charging device and to generate a user-perceptible output indicative of the determined charging rate.

  • Patent number: 5636036
Abstract: An interactive video system has a videodisc player, a joystick, a framestore, a display, and a control device for controlling functions such as reading of frames from the framestore to the display. The videodisc player stores several sequences of moving pictures with the frames of the sequences interleaved so that changes can quickly be made from one sequence to another. To mask the reduced frame rate of any one sequence, repeated frames from the framestore are given a alternate blue and red color casts. To give the effect of changing perspectives with motion, the portion of the framestore read to the display changes in dependence upon (ii) the joystick output and (ii) the existing location of the displayed portion in the framestore.

  • Patent number: 5541642
Abstract: A pair of stereoscopic images are displayed on alternate horizontal lines on a display and a decoder screen makes one image available to a viewer's left eye and the other to his right eye. In the case of a video signal the two images are carried on a pair of interlaced video fields. Decoders for such images can operate by polarizing the two images or by applying color filters to each of the two images.

  • Patent number: 5361106
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing high definition cinema pictures involves the use of a plurality of filters, each capable of transmitting light in a different wavelength band, to form a plurality of superimposed image components on the cinema film during a single frame period. A similar filtering operation is carried out when the film is projected to reconstitute the original colour image. Thus, if two filers are used at each stage twice the normal frame rate can be achieved whilst still using a camera and projector operating at the normal rate.
