Publication number: 20240095403Abstract: An online document system manages access to features within the online document system. The online document system may identify a first entity and a second entity associated with the first entity. The online document system may apply a trained machine learning model to a characteristic of at least one of the first entity or the second entity to identify one or more features within an online document system to recommend. The machine learning model may have been trained using feature training data describing one or more characteristics of a plurality of entities and describing historical activity associated with a usage of a plurality of features within the online document system by the plurality of entities. The online document system may output an indication of the one or more identified features to the first entity.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 30, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Andrew James Ashlock, Ronald Hirson, Mark Douglas Belanger

Publication number: 20240086496Abstract: An online document system provides a recommendation for one or more features within the online document system to an entity. The online document system accesses a set of feature training data to train a machine learning model. The set of feature training data may describe characteristics of entities associated with the online document system and historical activity associated with the entities' usage of the online document system's features. The machine learning model may be configured to identify a feature to recommend to an entity based on the entity's characteristics and history of using other features within the online document system. For example, data representing the entity's user accounts and use of an electronic signature feature is used by the machine learning model to identify a document authentication feature to recommend to the entity. The online document system may then provide the identified feature in a recommendation to the entity.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Applicant: DocuSign, Inc.Inventors: Andrew James Ashlock, Ronald Hirson, Mark Douglas Belanger

Patent number: 8847452Abstract: The electric generator with rotating induction apparatus and centripetal motion operation locates all of the electromagnetic induction components on the rotating portion of the generator. This design removes the divided electromagnetic interaction of rotating and stationary elements. The rotating input shaft and connected rotor contain the elements experiencing any potential magnetic interaction. There are no magnetic or induction components located on the stationary portion of the generator. A magnetic field source contained within a rotor mounted pivoting housing is moved by centripetal motion through an inductor section of the housing to create electrical induction. The relative angle of rotation of a pivoting inductor assembly is alternately articulated by front and rear guides located within the main housing. The centripetal motion providing magnet movement is created during rotation of the input shaft.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2011Date of Patent: September 30, 2014Inventor: Douglas James Belanger

Publication number: 20070181414Abstract: A switch assembly for an automotive power window having a housing and an actuator with two spaced-apart ends pivotally mounted to the housing about a transverse axis extending across a central portion of the actuator. The actuator includes a first actuator surface extending between the axis on one end of the actuator and a second actuator surface extending between the axis and the other end of the actuator. The actuator is pivotal in a first direction from a rest position by depression of the first actuator surface and is pivotal in the opposite direction from the rest position and to a second position upon depression of the second actuator surface. The second actuator surface is recessed within the housing in an amount sufficient to prevent actuation of the actuator to its second position by a sphere having a radius greater than or equal to 19 millimeters which approximates the size of a child's knee.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2006Publication date: August 9, 2007Inventor: James Belanger

Patent number: 5048147Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed that aid an accessory of an automobile wash system in being positioned accurately with respect to a particular automobile's width. The system consists of an abutment that is positioned within the path of the conveyed automobile and which will be pivoted out of the path by contact with the automobile. The extent of the pivoting of the abutment from the path of the automobile will give an indication of the width of the automobile. A hydraulic circuit communicates this information to a hydraulic cylinder that controls the positioning of the accessory and can position the accessory to account for the width of the individual automobile. An electronic sensor system is positioned downstream of the accessory and will sense when the automobile has left the automobile wash assembly, at which time the sensor will initiate a signal that returns the members to their original position.Type: GrantFiled: October 30, 1990Date of Patent: September 17, 1991Assignee: Belanger, Inc.Inventors: James A. Belanger, Robert J. Wentworth, Graham J. Astley
