  • Patent number: 9888815
Abstract: A system having a dispenser enabled to contain and dispense a liquid or semi-liquid material and located on a wall of a facility having a door, a user-operable triggering mechanism causing dispensing of a volume from the dispenser upon operation of the triggering mechanism, and a door latch mechanism incorporated at an opening edge of the door of the facility and coupled to the dispenser in a manner that operating the triggering mechanism to dispense the volume also unlatches the door latch mechanism, allowing the door to open.

  • Publication number: 20060048482
Abstract: A system for sealing a load with film, where the load is placed on a pallet, includes a frame and a vertically moveable platform on which the pallet is received. A clamp is mounted to the frame and is configured to engage the load independently of the pallet when the pallet is received on the platform. A rack is mounted to the frame so as to be vertically movable, and a pair of cross members are mounted to the rack so as to be horizontally movable. An engagement subsystem configured to engage sides of the film and a sealing subsystem configured to seal the film are mounted to the cross members. In operation, when the pallet is placed on the platform, the sides of the film, which in the form of a sleeve where the sides define an inner space when separated, are engaged with the engagement subsystem when the rack is in the upper position. Thereafter, the cross members move outwardly to separate the sides of film and to define the inner space.

  • Patent number: 5945147
Abstract: A method of packaging perishable foods wherein the perishable food product is packed in a plurality of cartons and the cartons are stacked on a pallet for storage and/or transportation, including placing a sheet of material on a pallet to provide a bottom sheet, with the bottom sheet overhanging the sides of the pallet, stacking a plurality of cartons on the bottom sheet on the pallet to form a carton stack, covering the top and sides of the carton stack with a bag of a gas permeable material, the bag having a closed top and an open bottom with a lower edge, sealing the edges of the bottom sheet to the lower edge of the bag, introducing a quantity of nitrogen gas through an opening into the interior of the bag without withdrawing any gas from the bag, and sealing the opening to retain the nitrogen within the bag, and apparatus for packaging such perishable products. Preferably the gas permeable material is a selective permeable material which is more permeable to oxygen than to nitrogen.
