Patent number: 5062039Abstract: An APL environment includes the usual workspaces plus so-called packaged workspaces. The disclosed packaged workspaces are load modules created from saved workspaces. An active APL workspace can access a loaded copy of the packaged workspaces using external names of named objects in a packaged workspace rather than internal names of its own named objects. Program execution associated with the packaged workspaces is controlled through a copy of the packaged workspace name table stored in the active workspace accessing the read only packaged workspace. Access to packaged workspaces not only can be concatenated from other packaged workspaces, but also can be shared among a plurality of active workspaces.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1988Date of Patent: October 29, 1991Assignee: International Business Machines Corp.Inventors: James A. Patent number: 4244615Abstract: A corner casting of the type used for lifting and moving containers is mounted to auxiliary apparatus such as a spreader for holding deckloading cargo. The corner casting is configured for actuating a crank upon the penetration of the lifting hook. When the hook penetrates at the top hole of the corner casting, a pedal pad is depressed. The pedal pad in turn is attached to a lever arm having a pivot at one end, the pedal pad at the other end and a pivotally attached spring bias rod therebetween. Upon twistlock penetration, the spring biased rod produces crank rotation at a protruding eccentric from a crank. By using the spring biased rod rotary motion can be imparted to the crank so that lifting of the spreaders effects automated container release in the case of the disclosed equalizer.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1979Date of Patent: January 13, 1981Assignee: Matson Navigation CompanyInventor: James A.
