  • Publication number: 20180158009
Abstract: A system is described for maximizing sales of perishable items while minimizing the waste produced. The system employs a number of stores each having at least one production department, such as a bakery or deli department, etc. The stores are linked to a corporate computing entity having a central CPU and corporate database. Each of the stores keeps a history of items made and sold for many time periods. The items sold for past equivalent time periods is used as an estimate of the number items to make. The corporate computing entity can determine a model store which has the best performance. The production plan for the model store is normalized and used to adjust the production plan. These numbers are calculated and rolled out just before they are needed from the east coast time zone through the farthest west time zone.

  • Publication number: 20160320054
Abstract: A ground flare for treating waste gas comprises a rectangular enclosure including opposing first and second side walls and opposing first and second end walls. The first and second side walls have a greater length than the first and second end walls. At least one air opening is formed in each of the first and second side walls for receiving air. At least one burner extends horizontally through each of the at least one air opening and into the enclosure. Each burner includes a fuel port disposed inside of the enclosure for injecting the waste gas into the enclosure.

  • Patent number: 5581016
Abstract: A detonation detection system for internal combustion piston engines which senses pressure within each cylinder through a piezoelectric force transducers installed under each spark plug producing pressure charged signals which signal is converted from inline charge to voltage. The signal is then passed through a gating comparator which segregates out the low pressure signals associated with intake and exhaust strokes. The signal then passes through a high-pass filter which removes normal combustion pressures. The filtered signal is then processed through an RMS (root mean square) to a DC converter which continuously computes the instantaneous square of the input signal, averages it, and takes the square root of the result to provide a DC voltage proportional to the RMS of the input. The DC signal is then processed through a peak and hold circuit which holds the peak signal for an adjustable reset-time period.

  • Patent number: 5449204
Abstract: A double containment fitting for use with a double containment pipe having an inner carrier pipe and an outer containment pipe. The fitting includes an inner containment member having a pair of open ends and a pair of centering spiders, each spider adhesively engaged with the exterior of the inner containment member near an end of the inner containment member. An outer containment member has a pair of open ends, each open end including a first portion having an inner radius larger than the exterior radius of the centering spider and a second portion adjacent the first portion having an inner radius less than the exterior radius of the centering spider, providing a shoulder for abutting an edge of the centering spider.

  • Patent number: 5419593
Abstract: A process to install an interlocking union for joining a first double containment pipe having a first carrier pipe within a first containment pipe to a second double containment pipe having a second carrier pipe within a second containment pipe. The process includes slipping a first locking ring into position over the outside diameter of the first carrier pipe to stop against the first containment pipe. A carrier coupling is adhesively bonded to the first carrier pipe stopping against the first locking ring. Thereafter, a second locking ring is slipped into position over the second carrier pipe stopping against the second containment pipe. The carrier coupling is adhesively bonded to the second carrier pipe stopping against the second locking ring. Finally, a containment coupling is bonded to the first containment pipe and to the second containment pipe.

  • Patent number: 5368338
Abstract: A containment interlocking union for use with a containment pipe which encloses a carrier pipe. The containment interlocking union is placed in position around a coupling in the carrier pipe. The interlocking union includes a first joint member and a second joint member positioned circumferentially adjacent to each other and coupled to the containment pipe. The first joint member comprises a first coupling portion of a major radius sealably engaging an outer circumferential surface of an end of the double containment pipe, a pair of second coupling portions of a minor radius adjacent the first coupling portion providing a pair of flanges abutting the ends of the carrier pipe coupling providing longitudinal support of the carrier pipe coupling, and a third coupling portion of an intermediate radius adjacent the second coupling portion.
