  • Patent number: 10405076
Abstract: The Present Invention is for a speaker system both standalone and in a phonograph that greatly reduces sympathetic vibration and feedback due to interaction of sound vibration transmitted from bass speakers to the chassis. The solution is twofold. First, the speakers are mounted in a substantially airtight enclosure. Second, the substantially airtight enclosure is suspended within the sound system chassis using elastic members in tension. A typical elastic member is an extension spring. In a phonograph, the elastic suspension almost completely isolates vibrations of the speaker enclosure from the phonograph chassis, thereby drastically reducing sympathetic vibration and feedback, and accommodating new depths of bass extension.

  • Patent number: 8100715
Abstract: A socket connector includes a conductive center receptacle, first outer socket contact having a first socket contact surface, second outer socket contact having a second socket contact surface, and non-conductive socket body. The socket contact surfaces are separated longitudinally along an axis of the receptacle. The socket body maintains the socket contacts electrically isolated from each other and the receptacle whenever the socket connector is not mated with a bi-conducting plug connector. A plug connector includes a conductive center pin, first outer plug contact having a first plug contact surface, second outer plug contact having a second plug contact surface, annular insulator, and non-conductive plug body. The plug contact surfaces are separated longitudinally along an axis of the pin. The plug body and insulator maintain the plug contacts electrically isolated from each other and the pin whenever the plug connector is not mated with a bi-conducting socket connector.

  • Patent number: 8069343
Abstract: A bootable restoration computer includes: at least one mass storage device; at least two mass storage device partitions in the at least one mass storage device, including first and second partitions; a partition image restoration program; at least one partition image; at least one human interface device; a primary operating system with graphical user interface; a secondary operating system; and, a boot loader responsive to the human interface device that provides for selecting between the primary secondary operating systems. The primary operating system resides on the first partition and is configured so that its standard locations for storing user-created files are folders rooted on at least one of any partition other than the first partition. The at least one partition image is an image of the first partition, and resides on at least one of any partition other than the first partition.

  • Patent number: 6023841
Abstract: The present invention relates to a manufacturing procedure for printed circuit boards. It is directed to those printed circuit boards which utilize one or more power devices. There is a printed circuit board having one or more removable regions, each removably joined thereto by means of a boundary which is perforated, scored, formed with a reduced material thickness, or otherwise rendered into a breakaway region. Each removable or breakaway region has one or more fixturing holes. There is a temporary fastener and a mating fastener for each of said fixturing holes, one or more power devices, and at least one heat sink having a mounting hole for each of said fixturing holes. The position of each mounting hole on said heat sink is related to the position of a corresponding fixturing hole on a removable region of said printed circuit board. Thus, when a power device is affixed to a removable region, the mounting hole of said power device will align with the respective mounting hole of the heat sink.

  • Patent number: 5994956
Abstract: The present invention is a device for feedback compensation in amplifiers having at least one voltage gain stage wherein both capacitive and inductive components are used in conjunction with resistive components. There is a first resistor, connected between the output node and the feedback node of the amplifier system, a capacitor, connected in parallel with the first resistor, a second resistor, and an inductor, connected in series with said second resistor. The series combination of the second resistor and the inductor is connected between the feedback node and the reference potential of the amplifier system (usually system common for a non-inverting amplifier system, or the input signal source for an inverting amplifier system). The capacitor advances the phase angle of the current flowing through the feedback network device while the inductor advances the phase angle of the voltage appearing between the feedback node of the amplifier system and the reference potential of same.

  • Patent number: 5302917
Abstract: The present invention amplifier circuit for connection to input and output devices, e.g. speakers includes input amplifier; positive power supply input; negative power supply input; first bias input means; second bias input means; a first differentiator/summer, receiving signals from the input amplifier, from the positive power supply input and from the first bias input means; a second differentiator/summer, receiving signals form the input amplifier, from the negative power supply input and from the second bias input means. There are PMOS and NMOS devices receiving signals from respective differentiator/summers, receiving power form the positive and negative power supply inputs and receiving signals from respective A. C. signal paths. Thus, there are first and second A. C. signal paths, each receiving signals from the input amplifier and sending resultant signals to the PMOS and NMOS devices, respectively; and an output terminal receiving signals from said PMOS and NMOS devices.
