  • Patent number: 7464501
Abstract: A sliding window assembly for use with a motor vehicle such as the rear window of the cab of a pickup type truck. A guide structure mounts a sliding pane for longitudinal sliding movement generally parallel to the plane of the pane between an open position and a closed position, and a lateral thrust mechanism is provided to move the pane laterally relative to the plane of the pane into the closed position wherein the exposed face of the pane is flush with a surrounding vehicle surface.

  • Patent number: 5025493
Abstract: A multi-element antenna feed method and system which has superior side lobe characteristics over previous electronically scanned beam approaches is provided. A multi-element antenna feed system generally comprises a multi-element antenna, an antenna array processor, a receiver, a signal processor for automatic tracking of targets, and an antenna steering control mechanism. The multi-element antenna may comprise alternate configurations and the antenna array processor is coupled to the multi-element antenna. The antenna array processor particularly comprises a diode switching array for combining at least one output of the elements of the multi-element antenna with at least one other output of the multi-element antenna switchably selected via the diode switching array. The method allows control of the antenna system side lobes in both the scanned offset beam plane and the orthogonal plane by an amplitude weighted combination of the selected element beams.

  • Patent number: 4532338
Abstract: The yield and purity of 2-halomethyl-1,3-cyclic acetals is improved by subjecting the reaction product of 1,2-dihaloethyl acetate and aliphatic diol to alkaline hydrolysis. The resulting aqueous and organic phases are separated and the organic phase distilled to recover the 2-halomethyl-1,3-cyclic acetal product.

  • Patent number: 4484008
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in the process of isolating certain diphenyl ethers from an aprotic organic solvent by the addition of a diphenyl ether phase forming amount of water to a reaction mixture comprising a liquid phase of the diphenyl ether dissolved in the solvent.

  • Patent number: 4320070
Abstract: Chlorothiolformates are prepared by reacting a mercaptan with phosgene in the presence of a catalytic amount of anion exchange resin in the neutral salt form. Preferably the resin has quaternary ammonium functionality.

  • Patent number: 4225518
Abstract: This invention relates to the treatment of an isomeric mixture of chloronitrobenzenes to provide a product higher in meta-chloronitrobenzene content, and lower in ortho-chloronitrobenzene and para-chloronitrobenzene content. In particular, a liquid mixtuure of ortho-, meta-, and para-chloronitrobenzene isomers containing a major amount of the meta isomer is solidified by dispersing the isomeric mixture in a partially miscible solvent at temperatures below the melting point of meta-chloronitrobenzene, the solvent and its temperature being selected so that the chloronitrobenzene isomers are sparingly soluble in the solvent. More particularly, a liquid isomeric mixture of ortho-, meta- and para-chloronitrobenzene containing a major amount of meta-chloronitrobenzene is dispersed in a lower alkylene glycol solvent that is at a temperature below the melting point of meta-chloronitrobenzene. A finely divided solid is collected, for example, by filtration, to provide a product enriched in meta-chloronitrobenzene.
