  • Patent number: 8981296
Abstract: A spectrometer system for providing information about a target with terahertz radiation. The system may receive incident radiation from the target through fore optics, a slit aperture, secondary optics and a dispersive element which images a slit on an array of terahertz sensitive detectors. The detectors may include uncooled sensors. Each sensor may be connected to its own micro antenna. The array of detectors may be situated proximate to the dispersive element so that radiation from the element may be dispersed according to wavelength to the respective detectors optimally sensitive to the various respective wavelengths. Detector signals indicating the impingement of terahertz radiation may provide information for identifying a material of the target.

  • Patent number: 8913507
Abstract: A method for enabling virtual data loopback in a computing system may include forwarding a data packet from a first device to a second device; the second device identifying from the data packet egress interface information indicating a first interface for forwarding the data packet out of the computing system; based on the first interface identified from the egress interface information, automatically determining a second interface to the first interface; inserting into the data packet ingress interface information that indicates the second interface; forwarding the data packet, including the ingress interface information, back to the first device; and the first device identifying the ingress interface information indicating the second interface; such that the data packet is looped back to the first device without being communicated via the first or second interface, and such that from the perspective of the first device the data packet was received via the second interface.

  • Patent number: 8882612
Abstract: We disclose an apparatus for improving passing skills in soccer, consisting of one or more triangles that can be placed on the ground to demarcate regions and boundaries on a playing field within which player movement is constrained or otherwise guided. The triangle edges are made from a flexible or extensible material and are attached at the triangle vertices by some type of joining device. The triangles can be placed on any surface suitable for soccer and held in place with stakes or other means. Multiple triangles can be placed on the ground to create a variety of demarcated regions and boundaries. This apparatus can be used for basic practice or to play various skill-enhancing games in which the ball is passed into and out of, or between, a triangle or a set of triangles.
