  • Patent number: 5416997
Abstract: An advertising display is convertible between an expanded display configuration and a collapsed configuration for storage and transportation. The display includes a cylindrical tube with generally circular end walls attached to the inner surface of the tube adjacent the top and bottom edges thereof. A center post is secured at a top end to the center of the top end wall and projects through the tube to extend therefrom through a center hole in the bottom end wall. The expanded display is rotatable about the tube by an electric motor mounted within the tube and coupled to the top end wall. The motor is powered by batteries also positioned within the post. The tube has diametrically opposed longitudinal fold lines extending between the top and bottom edges thereof to permit it to be collapsed to a storage and transportation configuration when not in use. Parallel transverse fold lines on each circular end wall enables them to fold inwardly within the tube when it is collapsed.

  • Patent number: 4848856
Abstract: An article display apparatus comprises a base, a hollow housing having a transparent outer wall and an article support rack rotatably mounted within the interior of the housing which displays and supports articles stacked end-to-end in vertical columns about the circumference of the housing. The article support rack is formed of a plurality of plastic extrusions each having two semicircular-shaped columns. Each column comprises a pair of spaced, flexible gripping arms which extend vertically along the axial length of the housing. The gripping arms of each column have opposed article gripping portions adapted to receive and grip an article therebetween, and opposed outer ends which deflect apart upon insertion or removal of an article within the gripping portions. Each plastic extrusion is also formed with male and female locking elements which permit adjacent extrusions to removably interlock with one another to form the article support rack.

  • Patent number: 4794764
Abstract: A portable article display apparatus for displaying articles such as beverage cans or other items includes a hollow housing having a transparent outer wall, a base support for mounting the housing and a door mounted over an access opening in the transparent outer wall for removing articles one-by-one from the housing. Systems for cooling the housing interior and defogging its transparent outer wall are provided for displaying food articles or other items which must be refrigerated. Articles are stacked in vertical columns within the housing interior upon an article support carriage which is rotatable with respect to the fixed base and housing to index each vertical column of articles into direct alignment with the door. In removing articles from the housing, the door is operable in an open position to permit removal of the lowermost article in the column while supporting the articles above. The remaining articles in the column are released in preparation for removal of another article upon closing the door.
