    Abstract: A set of light generating devices provide simultaneously emission of a first modulated light beam and at least a second modulated light beam. The set of light generating devices are positioned so that their respective light beams are incident on the scanning mirror at different elevation angles. A photodetector detects reflected light from the target. A simulation controller is coupled to receive data obtained from the reflected light to generate a scan control signal based on the receive data and a projectile trajectory path for the projectile to the target. The scan control signal sequentially scans the elevation angle of the scanning mirror so that the respective light beams simultaneously scan different sectors of the simulated trajectory path to obtain a simulation that represents the projectile trajectory path.

    Abstract: The combat training system includes a transmitter of a first electroluminescent signal representative of a projectile fired at a front of a structure, which is detected at the structure's front. An extent of damage that would be expected to be experienced by the structure is determined from the detected first signal. A second electroluminescent signal is transmitted behind the structure that is representative of the expected damage extent. A target behind the structure's front detects the second signal, from which an effect expected to be experienced by the target is determined.

    Abstract: A conductive deflection ribbon (52) is provided in an ink jet printing device (10) in which the ribbon (100) is coated with a highly resistive material (101). The deflection ribbon (52) is positioned adjacent a row of orifices (26) in an orifice plate (18) from which are expelled series of droplets (84). Selected ones of the droplets (84) are charged in such a manner they are deflected towards a catching device (54) by an electrostatic field established between the deflection ribbon (52) and the catching device (54). The resistive coating (101) inhibits the production of shorts between the charge plate (50), orifice plate (18) catcher (54) and the ribbon (52).

    Abstract: A jet drop recorder has a head assembly which generates, charges, and switches rows of jet streams arranged along angularly oriented placement lines. The spacing and angular orientation of the placement lines are selected so as to produce an effectively uniform side-by-side spacing for the drop streams arranged along the placement lines. Each placement line may include a large number of drop streams, so that there is produced a recording head capable of high resolution recording.The drop streams are created and selectively charged by an orifice plate and a charge ring plate having orifices and charge rings in mutual registration. Below the charge ring plate there is a deflection electrode assembly comprising an insulative member provided with a series of angularly arranged teeth. Deflection electrodes are plated on opposite sides of the teeth and connected to sources of different electrical potential for generation of electrical deflection fields.
