  • Patent number: 7984633
Abstract: A method of roll forming a metal plate with a desired bend. The method includes a first step of providing a roll press having at least a first and second set of bending rollers; a second step of positioning a lead end of the metal plate past the first set of bending rollers prior to the first set of bending rollers applying a bending force to the metal plate; a third step of applying a bending force with the first set of bending rollers to the metal plate at a point behind the lead end; and a fourth step of moving the lead end of the metal plate past the second set of bending rollers prior to the second set of bending rollers applying a bending force.

  • Patent number: 7261443
Abstract: An extendable lighting system having a main housing with a bottom wall and upwardly extending side walls. A lamp housing is retractable positioned within the main housing and a flexible diaphragm connects to the main housing above the bottom wall and connects to the lamp housing to create a substantially enclosed space between the diaphragm and the bottom wall. An air passage communicates with the enclosed space.

  • Patent number: 5706274
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dynamically determining the persistence value P at a node in a P-persistent CSMA wireless network by determining the number of nodes to which the given node has an established link and which have transmitted within a preceding period of time is provided. The preceding period of time is between 5-60 seconds, preferably approximately 10 seconds. The value of P is set to a value between 1/(0.5N+1) and 1/(2N+1), preferably approximately 1/(N+1).

  • Patent number: 5380209
Abstract: A trailer light connector enclosure which is characterized by an enclosure housing attached to either the frame, bumper or trailer hitch of a towing vehicle or the trailer tongue of a trailer and fitted with a removable or hinged door or closure and one or more slots, for receiving the plug or plug receptacle of the trailer or vehicle to enclose and secure the plug or plug receptacle when the plug or plug receptacle is not in use. In a preferred embodiment the trailer light connector enclosure is characterized by a notched housing of suitable shape, fitted with a hinged closure and an adhesive backing for mounting the housing on the vehicle or trailer, such that the plug or receptacle can be enclosed inside the housing when not in use and removed or extended from the housing for connection to the corresponding plug or plug receptacle component by opening the closure.

  • Patent number: 4795880
Abstract: Cleaning of low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) furnaces is accomplished "in-situ" at furnace operating temperatures. Radio frequency (RF) power is coupled into reactive gases, that have been metered into the evacuated furnace tube, using the furnace heating coil as the coupling element so as to create an etchant gas plasma. The gas chemistry and plasma conditions are selected to remove the LPCVD film that has accumulated on the furnace quartzware surfaces during its use in the LPCVD film deposition mode. The volatile chemical byproducts of the plasma clean reaction are removed from the furnace tube by the system's vacuum pump.

  • Patent number: 4356942
Abstract: The invention provides an internal frame rucksack in which the frame comprises at least two longitudinal frame members of substantially rigid material located in spaced-apart relationship within the rear wall of the sack, the frame members extending substantially from the bottom to the top of the sack wall, and each being provided adjacent their upper ends with at least one aperture, and wherein the apertures in the frame members correspond with spaced-apart apertures in a plate located externally of the wall of the sack and to which plate the frame members are secured by means of bolts or the like which pass through the wall of the sack, and wherein the plate includes a plurality of slots to selected ones of which the straps of a carrying harness may be attached. The location of the slots are so arranged on the plate that different width spacings and length spacings of the carrying straps can be selected.

  • Patent number: 4173766
Abstract: A read-only memory cell formed from a single insulated gate field-effect transistor may be selectively programmed by being operated under suitable biasing conditions to cause some of the electrons flowing between the source and drain to acquire sufficient energy to be injected into and trapped in the insulating material separating the channel from the gate electrode. The trapped electrons cause a change in the current-voltage characteristics of the transistor which may be detected during reading of the memory cell most easily by reversing the polarity of the source and the drain. An array of such cells may be utilized as a ROM, PROM or EPROM.

  • Patent number: 4169270
Abstract: An oxide dielectric layer is interposed between the polysilicon gate and the contact hole to the source or drain of an insulated-gate field-effect transistor to prevent electrical shorts between the gate and metal contact to the source or drain. The oxide dielectric layer enables the contact hole to be extremely close to the polysilicon gate without electrical shorts occurring therebetween, thereby eliminating the need for a minimum separation between the gate and contact hole.
