  • Patent number: 8368205
Abstract: A method for the assembly of a semiconductor package that includes cleaning a surface of a chip and a surface of a heat removal device by reverse sputtering is given. The method includes sequentially coating the surface of the chip and the surface of the heat removal device with an adhesive layer, a barrier layer, and a protective layer over a target joining area. The chip and the heat removal device are placed into carrier fixtures and preheated to a target temperature. Then a metallic thermal interface material (TIM) preform is mechanically rolled onto the surface of the chip and the first and the second carrier fixtures are attached together such that the metallic TIM layer on the surface of the chip is joined to the coated surface of the heat removal device through a fluxless process. The method includes heating the joined carrier fixtures in a reflow oven.

  • Publication number: 20120017486
Abstract: A sighting device includes a sighting target having a generally planar piece of material with horizontal and vertical indicia that segment the material into four quadrants. Two upper quadrants are separated from two lower quadrants by the horizontal indicia and two left side quadrants are separated from two right side quadrants by the vertical indicia. The juncture of the horizontal and vertical indicia defines a bulls-eye, the bulls-eye also having indicia indicative of a target. The target may be included in a kit having various tools for measuring lateral and vertical distances between an actual impact point and the bulls-eye that indicate appropriate numbers of clicks to be made to a sighting scope mounted to a weapon such as a rifle, compound bow, or crossbow.

  • Publication number: 20080216331
Abstract: A bow sighting device includes a laser situated in an arrow shaft adjacent a rear end and capable of producing a laser beam when energized, the laser being positioned so that the laser beam projects through a forward end. The sighting device includes a bow string release member having a string clamp selectively attached to a bowstring, the clamp having upper and lower sections with an arm extending therebetween defining a nock receiving area. The arm includes an arm conductive surface that may be energized by a battery. The arrow shaft includes a nock at its rear end having a nock conductive surface in electrical communication with the laser, the laser being energized to produce the laser beam when the nock is engaged with the nock receiving area of the arm of the string clamp.

  • Patent number: 7409770
Abstract: A bow sighting device according to the present invention includes a laser in electrical communication with a power source to actuate the laser to produce a laser beam. The bow sighting device includes an arrow shaft having forward and rear ends with the laser positioned in the arrow shaft such that the laser beam projects through the forward end. A focusing lens may be positioned at the forward end through which the laser beam passes. The sighting device may include a nock at the rear end and a pushrod configured such that the pushrod urges the power source into connection with the laser when the arrow shaft is placed in ready-to-fire configuration relative to the bow. The bow sighting device simplifies hunting with a compound bow or crossbow by providing a visual indication of exactly where the arrow shaft is aimed.

  • Patent number: 6836408
Abstract: The present application describes a method and an apparatus for facilitating increased uniformity and diffusion of force transfer on a bare die electronic package for example, when such electronic package is attached to a circuit board. Additional force absorbent material is applied around a bare die in the bare die electronic package. The force applied to the bare die electronic package can be distributed to the additional force absorbent material. A curable force absorbent material is dispensed around the bare die in the bare die electronic package. The surface of the curable material is substantially parallel with the surface of bare die thus facilitating a substantially uniform force distribution through the bare die and curable material resulting in a robust bare die electronic package.

  • Patent number: 6431965
Abstract: The invention provides a blasting apparatus with a dual structure deflector. The blasting apparatus includes a blasting cabinet for housing a work piece, a nozzle, a propelling device, and a blasting medium holding unit. In use, the propelling device directs air and blasting medium via a blasting path against a work piece. In one aspect, the dual structure deflector is positioned inside the blasting path and includes an interior structure, an exterior structure, and a tubular support. The interior structure may be made from a rigid material such as steel, aluminum, or another metal. The exterior structure may be made from a resilient material such as polyurethane. The dual structure deflector provides a rigid and impact-resistant configuration.

  • Patent number: 6243264
Abstract: A heat sink assembly includes a heat sink, a circuit board and an integrated circuit package. The package is located between the heat sink and the circuit board and attached to a die attach area of the circuit board. A heat sink retainer attached to the heat sink has a base section located adjacent to the circuit board directly opposite the die attach area. The retainer presses the heat sink down uniformly on the package. Further, the downward force applied to the heat sink is countered by an equal upward force applied by the base section of the retainer on the circuit board. Since the base section is located directly opposite the die attach area, the upward force is transferred from the base section directly back to the heat sink without imparting any bending force on the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4650354
Abstract: Bi-level cartridge for an endless printer ribbon has superposed upper and lower compartments with a ribbon stuffing feed means located in each compartment. The ribbon is guided so that it travels once through each of the compartments for each pass that it makes past a printing station. The feed means for each compartment are coaxial and keyed together so they can be driven by the printer's drive member. To facilitate threading and stuffing of the cartridge, an idler roller portion for one of the feed means is selectively movable into or out of biased engagement with its driven roller portion.
