  • Patent number: 10640934
Abstract: A paddle for a reclaiming drum may include a block of material configured for attachment to a leading edge of a flighting supporting a cutting bit on the reclaiming drum, and the block of material may assist in breaking up and mixing material removed from a surface by the cutting bit as the reclaiming drum is rotated and moved into the surface. The paddle may include two ear portions protruding from opposite sides of a flat, centrally-located, aft-facing surface of the block of material, each of the ear portions including an inwardly-facing chamfered surface configured to interface with an outwardly-facing, leading edge chamfered surface of the flighting such that a gap is maintained between a flat leading edge surface of the flighting located in between the outwardly-facing chamfered surfaces and the flat, centrally-located, aft-facing surface of the block of material when the block of material is attached to the flighting.

  • Patent number: 10188886
Abstract: A valve gear box has a valve monitoring function. The valve gear box is for mounting to a valve that has a fluid passageway and a gate therefor, the gear box providing a gear driven link for moving the gate between open and closed conditions of the fluid passageway, the valve gear box being in a housing that has a mounting for permitting operative connection to the valve via a mounting flange of the valve. The mounting and the mounting flange have a valve monitoring sensor operatively positioned therewith, the sensor being settable in one state when the mounting and the mounting flange are in assembled relationship to each other but being configured to change from the one state if there is a separation of the fastened connection of the mounting and the mounting flange, whereby a change in state from the one state can be used to monitor a separation of the assembled relationship of the mounting and the mounting flange and trigger an alarm condition.

  • Patent number: 4577110
Abstract: An improved apparatus and method for monitoring the characteristics of materials by their fluorescence are described. A unique design is employed in which common fields of view are provided for the optical paths for the illuminating light and the emitted fluorescence. In a preferred form they are coaxial. This permits the apparatus to be contained within a probe which may be inserted directly in a vessel containing the material to be analyzed. The device is specifically designed to withstand sterilization with steam, to operate aseptically within biological processes, and to maintain a high stability and sensitivity over extended periods of time.

  • Patent number: 4286464
Abstract: An optical fluid level monitor is disclosed. It comprises a plurality of prismatic sensors disposed in a linear array for measuring the levels of fluids, such as oil, in sumps of aircraft and helicopter engines and other closed containers. In use each of the sensors is sequentially pulsed by an integral light source. If the detector is above the fluid level it appears bright, if below it appears bright, if below it appears dark, this difference being caused by an integral light detector device. Counting circuits are provided to determine the number of bright sensors and electronically convert this into a fluid volume for display purposes. A presettable low volume alarm is also included as is a correction circuit to compensate for volume changes caused by heating of the fluid in use.
