  • Patent number: 11971399
Abstract: A resonant sensor probe assembly includes a substrate formed from one or more dielectric materials and free-standing electrodes coupled with the substrate. The free-standing electrodes are configured to be placed into the fluid and to generate an electric field between the free-standing electrodes. A controller measures an impedance response of the sensor to the fluid between the electrodes to determine an aging effect of the sensor.

  • Patent number: 9161005
Abstract: Management of the storage of media assets as between one of a plurality of content selection device (121-123) and a network storage facility (24) occurs in accordance with a user-assigned earliest viewing time assigned to the assets. To provide a user with the highest quality viewing experience, the network storage facility will down load to the requesting content selection device the requested media asset in advance of its earliest desired viewing time. To the extent that the content selection device lacks available storage capacity, then the content selection device will upload one or more media assets based on the earliest desired viewing time to off-load assets desired for viewing at a time later than the requested content.

  • Publication number: 20050241979
Abstract: A reinforced packaging system is provided that includes a slit and an insert at a location in the foam frame that is susceptible to puncture. The presence of the slit and insert provides localized support against puncture by the shipped unit or an external component of the shipped unit. The insert may be composed of a paper, plastic, or other suitable product that is able to absorb the force from the shipped unit and transfer this force across the insert and the adjacent foam.

  • Patent number: 6795543
Abstract: A control resource, such as a service control point, causes a telephone network to route calls, initiated by an explicit request for operator service, to a front-end automation platform. The platform provides an announcement, typically in the form of a menu identifying available services. If the platform receives a signal from a caller selecting one of the services, the platform converts the call from an operator service call to a type of call associated with the selected service. The network then routes the call as converted, through the network to a predetermined resource for providing the selected service. The menu announcement and service selection processing with subsequent call conversion help take as many operator service calls as possible away from the operator switch and instead route many calls directly to the appropriate department, emergency destination or automated resource.

  • Patent number: 6574323
Abstract: An advanced intelligent network (AIN) stores, at time of service provisioning, call processing records (CPRs) associated with select special needs services. The CPR initiates alternative processing or suppresses processing of a CPR associated with a called party to provide special services. For example, public safety and emergency readiness and response organizations are identified at time of initial service provisioning with an appropriate passive user service CPR stored in a service control point thereby invoking special call processing requirements when calling another subscriber. Thus, subscriber AIN services which might block or reroute a call placed by an emergency organization would be suppressed by operation of the CPR associated with the calling telephone line. Other special need calls might also be accommodated.
