  • Patent number: 11946770
Abstract: Systems and methods for mapping trip trajectories include identifying one or more vehicle trips (e.g., aircraft flights). One or more trajectory configurations associated with at least a portion of each vehicle trip can be identified, and location data associated with the one or more vehicle trips can be requested. Trip trajectory data based at least in part from the location data associated with the one or more vehicle trips and the one or more trajectory configurations associated with at least a portion of each vehicle trip can be generated. The trip trajectory data can be provided for display on a map of a geographic area including one or more locations defined by the location data associated with the one or more vehicle trips.

  • Patent number: 11927472
Abstract: Modular storage systems include load sensors disposed beneath or in association with platforms. The load sensors are pulse-sampled for signals corresponding to loads at time intervals, rather than continuously, in order to conserve electrical power. An item associated with a transaction is identified based on a change in the loads, as determined from the pulse-sampled signals. The platforms are aligned at horizontal or non-horizontal angles, and photovoltaic power sources with banks of photovoltaic cells are mounted to front edges of the platforms. When a user reaches over one of the photovoltaic cells to access an item on a platform, a level of power or voltage generated by the photovoltaic cell is diminished. The item closest to the photovoltaic cell having the diminished power or voltage, or a customer that accessed the item, may be identified accordingly.

  • Patent number: 11646805
Abstract: A measurement system utilizing metasurfaces and compressive sensing is provided that measures specular and diffuse RF reflection properties of a sample omnidirectionally across a broad frequency regime in a monostatic, bistatic, or BRDF sense. The measurement system may be used to measure the full hemispherical (or spherical) reflection from a target that has been illuminated in a monostatic or bistatic case. The measurement system may also be used to measure the full BRDF of a sample or spatially complex bistatic reflections from a sample.

  • Publication number: 20220193844
Abstract: A manufacturing system for processing workpieces includes a manufacturing cell, a plurality of pallets supporting workpieces, and at least one robotic device configured to operate on the workpieces. The manufacturing system also includes first and second processing stations configured to support any one of the pallets in fixed position relative to the robotic device. The manufacturing system additionally includes at least one transport device configured to transport any one of the pallets to and from each of the first and the second processing stations. In addition, the manufacturing system includes a controller configured to coordinate the operation of the manufacturing cell in a manner allowing the robotic device to continuously operate on a workpiece supported by a pallet at the first processing station, while another pallet is transported to or from the second processing station.

  • Publication number: 20220197265
Abstract: A production utilization planner (PUP) core for a manufacturing cell has a simulation manager configured to simulate the processing of workpieces arranged in a workpiece order, by performing the steps of: creating an instance of a simulation controller and an instance of a software model of the manufacturing cell, determining a next timed action to be performed by state machines, incrementing the simulation to the next timed action, updating the software model and the simulation controller each time a state machine performs a timed action, and repeating the steps of determining the next timed action, incrementing the simulation, and updating the software model and the simulation controller, until all of the workpieces have been processed. The simulation manager is configured to output a simulated completion time for processing the workpiece order.

  • Patent number: 11330395
Abstract: A method of operating a facility includes identifying, by a controller, a ground vehicle approaching a restricted access area, and determining, by the controller, if the identified ground vehicle is authorized to enter the restricted access area. The controller permits the identified ground vehicle to enter the restricted access area when the controller determines that the identified ground vehicle is authorized to enter the restricted access area. The controller determines if an object other than the identified ground vehicle is approaching the restricted access area with the identified ground vehicle, and activates protective action when the controller determines that the identified ground vehicle is not authorized to enter the restricted access area or that an object other than the permitted ground vehicle is approaching to enter the restricted access area with the permitted ground vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11235788
Abstract: A wayside railway sensor package is provided to detect railway wheels for the purposes of assessing the speed and direction of a train in order to align any measured characteristic on said moving train with the proper vehicle. The stand-alone package is easily installed in the web of the rail using standard tools. When used in combination with recent processing techniques, the package can be used to replace one or more components or subsystems on all common wayside detectors while also providing enhanced capabilities and improved reliability. The package also contains sensors that provide data used for assessing additional rail, wheel, and vehicle conditions directly.

  • Patent number: 10684219
Abstract: Hydrocarbons concentrations are determined in drilling cuttings samples by generating a model for predicting hydrocarbons concentrations. Methods include dividing multiple samples removed from drilling fluid into two one set analyzed using a retort, and another set analyzed using a handheld NIR spectrometer to obtain NIR diffuse reflectance data. PLS analysis is used to correlate the retort data with the diffuse reflectance data to generate a calibration model. The model is validated with samples having unknown hydrocarbons concentration. The model is used to predict the hydrocarbons concentration for samples removed from drilling fluid taken from the rig site using the spectrometer to obtain diffuse reflectance data. During measurements, each sample contains 0.1 to 10 wt % moisture and each sample is in a clear container pressed against the spectrometer window such that the IR source from the handheld device can pass to the drilled solids sample within the clear container without opening the clear container.

  • Publication number: 20150022704
Abstract: An electronic device comprising an image sensor, an orientation sensor, and a user interface, may be operable to capture photographs via the image sensor. Input to the user interface required for triggering a photo capture may depend on an orientation of the electronic device indicated by the orientation sensor. Input required to trigger a photo capture while the orientation sensor indicates a first orientation of the electronic device may be different than input required to trigger a photo capture while the orientation sensor indicates a second orientation of the electronic device.

  • Publication number: 20090112756
Abstract: A method and system for processing information is provided. A negotiable instrument may be scanned to determine a first amount and a second amount. A comparing module compares the first amount to the second amount, and a value for the negotiable instrument is determined based on the amounts. The value can be compared to the amounts to determine if a predetermined error has been committed in entering the value. If so, the value may be corrected.

  • Publication number: 20050137957
Abstract: A computer system trades investment vehicles secured by governmental assets via a computerized network. A computer server is accessible with a network access device via a communications network. Executable software stored on the server is executed to transmit data relating to trading investment vehicles secured by governmental assets; to receive an instruction to buy or sell an investment vehicle secured by governmental assets; and to transmit a live order from an investor, wherein the live order is related to the instruction to buy or sell an investment vehicle secured by governmental assets. A database of investment vehicle profiles is maintained that includes a term, a face value, a governmental guarantee to repay the face value at the end of the term, a payment schedule requiring periodic payments by the governmental entity comprising a percentage of the face value, and an allocation of appreciation of the pool of governmental assets during the term of the investment vehicle.
