The end of the dispensing nozzle is placed in a hollow interior of a band carrying the same solvent that is dispensed by the nozzle. The solvent on the band evaporates into a gap between the band and the dispensing nozzle, thus providing a vapor sheath, or environment in the gap, that helps to prevent the fouling of the dispensing nozzle.
