  • Publication number: 20230372703
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to an ingestible electronic device configured to provide short term electrical stimulation to a stomach of a subject. The device may include a non-expandable housing and two or more electrodes disposed on the non-expandable housing to apply the short term electrical stimulation to the stomach of the subject. In some instances, the short term electrical stimulation may be on the order of 1 hour or less. In some instances, the ingestible electronic device may utilize the natural gastrointestinal processes of the subject to retain the ingestible electronic device for an appropriate time period within the stomach. For example, the subject may first ingest the ingestible electronic device and the device may travel into the stomach of the subject. The device may then apply electrical stimulation to the stomach for an appropriate time period prior to passing out of the stomach via a pyloric orifice of the stomach.

  • Publication number: 20220213377
Abstract: A method of treating a fluid to reduce the level of H2S therein while inhibiting the deposition of scale on surfaces in contact with the fluid, comprising introducing into the fluid a triazine scavenger compound and a terpolymer. The fluid may be liquid or gas and may be petroleum, petroleum product, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas or other type of oil fraction or refined oil. The triazine scavenger may be e.g. 1,3,5-tri(2-hydroxyethyl)-hexahydro-1,3,5-triazine. The terpolymer may comprise a carboxylate/sulphonate/non-ionic terpolymer. When added to a wellbore fluid, it is effective as a scavenger of H2S and also reduces the amount of scale deposition on a surface in contact with the fluid when the fluid comes into contact with or is mixed with a brine. In some aspects, the composition increases the proportion of precipitated solids held in suspension when the fluid is contacted with or mixed with a brine.

  • Patent number: 10752825
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for the removal of deposits from oilfield apparatus and wellbore surfaces. In particular, removal of deposits comprising heavy hydrocarbon materials and finely divided inorganic solids. The composition includes a mixture of a corrosion inhibitor component which is morpholine or a morpholine derivative having corrosion inhibitor properties, and a surfactant which is a quaternary ammonium compound having biocidal properties. Methods of removing a deposit from a surface or unplugging an oilwell which has been plugged with a deposit, are also included wherein the method comprising contacting the deposit with a composition as disclosed herein for a selected period of time.

  • Patent number: 10142697
Abstract: Various enhanced interactive TV experiences are supported by a real-time TV service that can interact over a network with applications running on interactive TV platforms. The real-time television service enables data, video, and communication user interface (UI) elements to be supported alongside the linear TV content in three discrete navigational states, each with a specific role aligning to user intent. In the case of one particular UI element—a focused companion panel—a live stream of personalized data is supported that enhances the user's comprehension and awareness of live events. The real-time TV service can further enable users to opt in to certain customizable events and be served notifications on the TV screen on which their attention is directed, and follow the notification into an application that lands them on a specific piece of content that satisfies specific conditions.

  • Publication number: 20140331265
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for enhancing a television viewing experience by a group of one or more users. The experience is enhanced by integrating services from a number of different sources. This integration of services aggregates cloud data, identifies content from the aggregated cloud data that is potentially of interest to the user, and distributes that content to a main display or one or more secondary computing devices associated with the one or more users in the group.

  • Patent number: 4229910
Abstract: A knife sharpening apparatus adjustable to maintain a knife at a preselected angle during sharpening. The apparatus includes a platform adapted for supporting a sharpening stone thereon, and a support assembly mounted for shifting along a path substantially normal to the plane of the platform. A bar used in guiding the top edge of a knife blade is mounted on the assembly for shifting relative thereto along such path. To adjust the apparatus, the bar is placed at a "zero" position on the support assembly, and the latter is shifted to place the bar against the top of the stone. The bar is then shifted away from its "zero" position a preselected distance to produce a desired spacing between the bar and the stone, wherein, with a knife blade placed with its working edge against the stone, and its opposite edge against the bar, the blade is held at a desired preselected angle.
