  • Publication number: 20050195685
Abstract: An apparatus for mixing material in a container includes a platform mounted for simultaneous movement on at least two axes and for supporting a container containing material to be mixed. A motor can be operatively associated with the platform to move the platform on the two axes. A container holding assembly having a vertical extent can be carried by the platform, and is moveable between a closed position in which the holding assembly is positioned proximate the container to retain the container on the platform during mixing operations, and an open position in which the holding assembly is positioned away from the container so that the container can be removed from the platform without lifting the container over the vertical extent of the holding assembly. The platform can be contained within a housing having a low profile opening such that the container can be removed without elevating the container.

  • Patent number: 6042164
Abstract: A container lifter (2) is designed for use with a container (6) of the type having a body and a neck (4) extending from the body. The neck has an enlarged-diameter portion (24) and a reduced-diameter portion (28). The container lifter has a collar (8) which defines a collar opening (22) sized to permit the enlarged-diameter portion to pass therethrough. A keeper (14) is mounted to the collar for movement between a first position, spaced apart from the collar opening, and second position, partially covering the collar opening to define a reduced collar opening (26). The reduced collar opening is sized to permit the reduced-diameter portion to pass therethrough but prevent the enlarged-diameter portion from passing therethrough. The container lifter also includes a handle (32), extending from the collar, having a handgrip (34) which is generally centered on the reduced collar opening.

  • Patent number: 6010100
Abstract: The present invention provides clip assemblies and methods for their use for retaining a cable against a mounting surface. Exemplary clip assemblies (10) include a clip body (12) having upper and lower surfaces (14, 16). The clip body lower surface defines a cable retaining opening (36) sized for receipt of the cable. The clip body further includes a penetration region that is adapted for being penetrated by a fastener (40). The clip assembly includes a threaded fastener having a head (42), a tip (44), and a shaft portion (46) between the head and tip. The shaft portion has a threaded region (48) and a non-threaded region (54). The threaded region includes a plurality of threads (50) defining a root diameter (52) of the threaded region. The non-threaded region has a diameter (56) that is generally equal to or less than the root diameter of the threaded region. The non-threaded region is adapted to align with the penetration region when the threaded region is fastened to the mounting surface.

  • Patent number: 5957513
Abstract: A container lifter (2), suited for lifting and moving 5-gallon water bottles (4) by the neck (6), includes a U-shaped collar (14) with proximal and distal portions (16, 18), a side brace (28) extending from the distal portion of the collar and a handle (34) extending from the proximal portion of the collar. A horizontally-oriented container can be removed from a delivery truck and placed in a generally vertical orientation. To do so, the collar is slid sideways onto the neck of the bottle, the handle is pulled horizontally so the collar engages the neck ring, and the bottle is pulled from the truck. Once free from the truck, the bottle swings down to a generally, but not completely, vertical orientation at which the proximal portion of the collar and the side brace engage the neck. The container lifter can also be used to lift and move generally vertically-oriented bottles with the proximal portion of the collar and the side brace engaging the neck.

  • Patent number: 4903920
Abstract: A clip (2) for retaining coaxial type cable (4) against a mounting surface (6) means of a nail (8) similar fastener may be produced by an extrusion process. The clip has an upper surface (18) having a first nail slot (26), and has a lower surface (20) with a second nail slot (36) and a cable retaining opening (50). The first nail slot is situated above the second nail slot and a slot separation wall (44) is defined therebetween. The cable is inserted in the cable retaining opening and the clip is placed against the mounting surface. The fastener is then driven through the first nail slot, through the slot separation wall, through the second nail slot and into the mounting surface. The first and second nail slots have widths about 90%-110% of the diameter of the fastener, and the slot separation wall has a thickness of about 75%-150% of the diameter of the fastener. The depth of the second nail slot is chosen accommodate any flashing (52) produced as the fastener is driven through the slot separation wall.

  • Patent number: 4721158
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and related system for controlling the injection of fluid into a plurality of spaced wellbores using a fluid distribution system to direct fluid from a fluid source to each of the spaced wellbores. In the method, high/low fluid flow rate limits and high/low fluid pressure limits for each wellbore are determined and inputted into an RTU. The fluid flow rate and fluid pressure for each wellbore are measured at the fluid distribution system and the measured fluid flow rate and the fluid pressure for each wellbore are compared to the determined limits. Thereafter, the flow of fluid to each wellbore is adjusted at the fluid distribution system for those wellbores that have a measured fluid flow rate and/or fluid pressure outside of the determined limits and the adjustment is continued until the measured flow rate and fluid pressure are within the determined limits.

  • Patent number: 4536252
Abstract: Nitrosyl fluoride is prepared by laser-induced method wherein the nitrosyl luoride is produced in situ or in close proximity to where it is used to etch semiconductor surfaces.A reaction mixture of a catalyst compound and a fluoro compound, wherein the catalyst compound is an oxide of nitrogen selected from the group of nitrogen oxide compounds consisting of NO, N.sub.2 O, and NO.sub.2 and wherein the fluoro compound is selected from the group of fluoro compounds consisting of NF.sub.3 and N.sub.2 F.sub.4, is irradiated with CO.sub.2 laser radiation to produce FNO. FNO reacts with an exposed silicon material to produce SiF.sub.4 and nitrogen oxide. Since the oxide is regenerated, it can be regarded as a catalyst which can be recovered and recycled.A production scheme for producing nitrosyl fluoride for etching is disclosed wherein the nitrosyl fluoride is produced directly in the laser reaction chamber by passing a CO.sub.2 laser beam through the reaction mixture.

  • Patent number: 4529489
Abstract: A CW tunable laser is employed in a laser photochemical decomposition met to achieve decomposition of a compound of high toxicity to relatively non-toxic decomposition products.Organophosphorus chemical agents containing a characteristic C--O--P group are irradiated with a predetermined power level from about 10 to about 150 W/cm.sup.2 for a predetermined time period to effect cleavage of the C--O bond. The infrared laser excitation level of radiation in the range of 10.4 .mu.m or 9.4 .mu.m is resonant with the absorption band of the C--O--P group contained in the organophosphorus chemical agent. The absorbed radiation effects cleavage of the C--O bond and thereby achieves decomposition of the organophosphorus chemical agent. The disclosed method is highly selective for cleavage of the C--O bond rather then cleavage of the P--O bond, and in the presence of air, the method requires low power levels of the CO.sub.2 laser for rapid and complete dissociation of the organophosphorus chemical agent.
