  • Publication number: 20060191260
Abstract: Internal combustion engine heat is recovered by charge air for useful work and to increase engine thermal efficiency. A dual liquid/air cooling system is presented to facilitate heat recovery. Water is injected into a pintle-regulated Venturi to mitigate the engine charge temperature, control the combustion temperature and reduce NOx emissions.

  • Patent number: 7093651
Abstract: A water pressure system includes a pressure tank installed underground within the well casing of a well. The water pressure system includes a submersible pump connected to the inlet of the pressure tank by a drop pipe. The outlet of the pressure tank is connected to a second drop pipe and in turn to a discharge pipe for distribution of pressurized water to a house or other building. A pressure switch is connected to the pressure tank for controlling the submersible pump. The pressure tank includes an outer sidewall with an inlet end and an outlet end. A flexible diaphragm bladder located within the outer sidewall is connected between the inlet and outlet of the tank. In a first embodiment, a tube extends through the center of the bladder between an inlet opening and an outlet opening. The tube has a plurality of holes therein to allow water to flow into and out of the flexible bladder. Pressurized air fills the space between the bladder and the outer sidewall to pressurize the water in the bladder.

  • Publication number: 20060151891
Abstract: Ambient air is fed through a double wall pipe exhaust and subsequently directed into a pintle regulated Venturi. Fuel is vaporized and mixed homogeneously with air in the Venturi throat. The mixture is homogeneous at all throttle loadings because the pintle flow regulating valve maintains a high velocity at the Venturi throat. Water is injected into the Venturi throat to regulate the air/fuel charge temperature and, consequently, auto-ignition timing for a Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) engine.

  • Publication number: 20060136683
Abstract: A memory hub includes a local queue that stores local memory responses, a bypass path that passes downstream memory responses, and a buffered queue coupled to the bypass path that stores downstream memory responses from the bypass path. A multiplexer is coupled to the local queue, buffered queue, and the bypass path and outputs responses from a selected one of the queues or the bypass path responsive to a control signal. Arbitration control logic is coupled to the multiplexer and the queues and develops the control signal to control the response output by the multiplexer.

  • Publication number: 20060060772
Abstract: A system, method, and device for providing remote mass spectrometry are disclosed. The exemplary system may have an ion source for injecting ions and a measurement chamber. The measurement chamber may be coupled to the ion source for receiving and detecting signals of the ions. The measurement chamber may have an analysis cell, a magnet and an ionizing device. • Publication number: 20060000598
Abstract: A sequencing valve and associated hydronic system are provided. The valve has first and second ports, which can be connected to a heat exchange device, and the valve is configured to selectively provide multiple fluids to the heat exchange device. For example, the valve can selectively connect hot and cold water supplies to the heat exchanger so that the heat exchanger can be used alternately to heat and cool air for a refrigeration system. The valve can include check valves that are adjusted by rotatable cams for controlling the flow of fluids into and out of the ports. Each cam can be mounted on a rotatable shaft so that the cams rotate to adjust the check valves between open and closed positions.

  • Publication number: 20050247642
Abstract: A separating tank assembly enables a dental vacuum separating tank to be drained without using a pump and without turning off or isolating the vacuum source from the tank. A drain tank is provided in fluid communication with the separating tank, and a control valve controls a pressure differential between the drain tank and the fluid tank. When the separating tank is filling, the drain tank and separating tank pressures are equalized, and the tanks are in fluid communication. When the fluid in the drain tank reaches a predetermined level, the solenoid opens the drain tank to atmosphere, blocking fluid communication between the separating tank and the drain tank and opening fluid communication between the drain tank and a sewer drain. After the fluid is drained, the solenoid reopens fluid communication between the separating tank and the drain tank, and the pressures in the respective tanks are equalized.

  • Publication number: 20050132755
Abstract: A method of fabricating a wash basket for a washing machine including providing a substantially cylindrical housing having a bottom and an inner wall, providing a plurality of geometric structures and connecting the plurality of geometric structures to the inner wall. The plurality of geometric structures may be configured to optimize a relationship between mechanically agitating an article contained within the wash basket during a wash cycle and reducing a residual moisture content of the article during a spin cycle. A wash basket for a washing machine may include a housing having an inner wall fabricated by a first process and a plurality of geometric structures fabricated by a second process where the plurality of geometric structures are attached to and extend radially inwardly from the inner wall, the geometric structures comprising a separate structure relative to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20050086417
Abstract: In a memory system, multiple memory modules communicate over a bus. Each memory module includes a hub and at least one memory storage unit. The hub receives local data from the memory storage units, and downstream data from one or more other memory modules. The hub assembles data to be sent over the bus within a data block structure, which is divided into multiple lanes. An indication is made of where, within the data block structure, a breakpoint will occur in the data being placed on the bus by a first source (e.g., the local or downstream data). Based on the indication, data from a second source (e.g., the downstream or local data) is placed in the remainder of the data block, thus reducing gaps on the bus.

  • Publication number: 20050075838
Abstract: A vacuum-strength measurement device is utilized to determine vacuum producer system performance specifications and system parameters. A flow ability factor can be determined that represents the effect of system piping and usage area equipment on performance. With the flow ability factor, a vacuum strength requirement can be determined to effect a target vacuum performance. For system design, design parameters can be established based on a relationship between a desired flow ability factor and an amount of vacuum strength required to match target vacuum performance.

  • Publication number: 20050038928
Abstract: Systems and methods, for providing distributed configuration storage are presented. The configuration storage is divided into distributed configuration target modules that are physically located in each design section of a device that uses configuration storage. A distributed configuration master module, physically located near the host interface, controls access into and out of each target module via a distributed configuration bus. The creation of each storage array in the distributed configuration storage can be automated using a scripting tool that converts each register specification into hardware description language code.

  • Patent number: 6018792
Abstract: A computer system has a system memory, cache memory, system controller that process memory transactions. The system controller transmits a memory request to the system memory without waiting for the cache memory to be snooped to determine whether the cache memory stores information in an address corresponding to a selected address of the system memory. The system controller may transmit a snoop request to the cache memory concurrently with or after the memory request is transmitted to the system memory. The system controller may have a control switch that uses a first pathway for the memory request and a second pathway for the snoop request so that the snoop and memory requests can be transmitted simultaneously.
