  • Patent number: 10911270
Abstract: Described are systems and methods take advantage of properties of sinc filters that remove frequency components at specific integer multiples of a noise frequency. In various embodiments, sampling of multi-channel systems at sufficiently high rates allows for removal of unwanted signals and harmonics from multi-sample sequences. Advantageously, a multi-sample sequence scheduling scheme eliminates the need for noise filtering one channel at a time at each channel's own sampling rate using a separate filter.

  • Publication number: 20210025780
Abstract: Non-contact methods of predicting an insertion loss of a test optical fiber connector are disclosed. Light is sent down the at least one optical fiber of the connector in the fundamental mode to emit an output light beam. The output-beam image is captured at different distances from the fiber end faces to define multiple output-beam images each associated with one of the multiple measurement positions. A Gaussian curve is then fitted to the multiple output-beam images to determine a mode field diameter, an offset, and a tilt of the output light beam. A Gaussian field model that incorporates the offset, the tilt, and the mode-field diameter is then used to predict the insertion loss when connecting to a reference optical fiber of a reference optical fiber connector.

  • Publication number: 20200412295
Abstract: Several pre-assemblies holding panels of photovoltaic cells are constructed and pre-wired in a factory. The pre-assemblies are shipped to a solar farm, where they are lifted above posts secured to the ground using, for example, using an excavator connected to an end effector. The pre-assemblies are then connected to the posts and electrically coupled to one another. Such installation of solar panels in a solar farm may be faster and less labor-intensive than other types of installation.
