Abstract: A power connector system includes a female connector and a male connector. The female connector includes a female terminal in a female housing. The female terminal is in the form of a U-shaped channel defining a recess. A U-shaped contact member in the channel recess forms a second recess. The male connector includes a male terminal in a male housing. The male and female housings are releasably connected together with the male terminal extending into the recess in the contact member.

Abstract: A battery terminal cover is provided for a battery in an automotive vehicle. The battery terminal cover includes a base portion operatively connected to a terminal lead and a retention portion disposed within the base portion to allow the battery terminal cover to be engaged after the terminal lead is fastened to the terminal of the battery to retain the base portion in a closed position over the terminal.

Abstract: Electric cables are passed through a hole in a transmission housing that is filled with transmission fluid by means of a sealed electrical connector system that comprises a sealed "pass through" electrical connector that is mounted in the hole of the transmission housing and an external mating connector. The pass through connector includes an insert that cooperates with solid metal pins of specially designed two-piece male terminals to seal the mating end of the pass through connector. The insert also serves as a secondary lock to insure that the male terminals are retained in the terminal cavities. The external mating connector also has an insert that has the same secondary lock feature to retain female terminals in its terminal cavities.
