  • Publication number: 20070062684
Abstract: A Shore power HVAC system for a vehicle is provided. The vehicle has a vehicular HVAC system with an engine compressor, a condenser, and an expansion valve and an evaporator coupled to each other in series by a plurality of conduits. The shore power HVAC system includes an electric compressor structured to compress a coolant fluid and a diverter valve structured to allow fluid to pass through a selected fluid path. The electric compressor is coupled to, and in fluid communication with the evaporator and the diverter valve. The diverter valve is further coupled to the engine compressor. Thus, a first coolant fluid loop and a second coolant fluid loop are created. The first coolant fluid loop passes through, in series, the engine compressor, the diverter valve, the condenser, the expansion valve, and the evaporator. The second coolant fluid loop passes through, in series, the electric compressor, the diverter valve, the condenser, the expansion valve and the evaporator.

  • Patent number: 7175240
Abstract: Ornamentations for wheel assemblies that are rotatably mounted on the hub assemblies of the wheel assemblies and configured to produce a variety of visual and/or audible effects. The ornamentations develop a spinning motion as the wheels rotate and remain spinning for a period of time after the rotation of the wheels is stopped. The ornamentations are generally disc shaped and can include light and/or sound generating elements. The ornamentations can be used in conjunction with spoked wheels such as bicycle wheels.

  • Patent number: 7177375
Abstract: A method and apparatus for processing a signal is presented. An accumulator receives an input signal and generates an accumulated value. A hysteresis controller sets an adjustable upper and lower limit. The upper and lower limits are compared with the accumulated value in a comparator. The comparator outputs a result, which is fed back into the hysteresis controller through a feedback loop. Once the input signal stays within the upper and lower limits, a test signal is considered within specification. When the input signal is outside of the boundary limits, a corrupt test signal is detected.

  • Patent number: 7140831
Abstract: An attachment for a skid steer loader, back hoe or powered excavator that can be used to quickly smooth out the walls of a swimming pool, ditch, etc. following the excavation and the process of using the attachment. The attachment includes a vertical flat surface perpendicular to the ground for smoothing the walls of a swimming pool. The process will reduce the need for workers to spend time and effort smoothing the walls manually and improving the safety of swimming pool construction. The cost of building a swimming pool will be reduced significantly by decreasing the number of workers required in the construction process. The process of smoothing walls reduces the amount of gunite required in the swimming pool construction process and thus improving the economics for the pool builder.

  • Publication number: 20060234822
Abstract: A dual mode continuously variable transmission for use with motor vehicles includes a transmission input shaft, a transmission output shaft, and a variator disposed between the transmission input shaft and the transmission output shaft. A mixer gear set is operably disposed between the transmission input shaft and the variator output shaft. A clutching element is operably disposed between the input shaft the mixer gear set. The variator is configured to continuously vary a ratio of input torque to output torque between the variator shafts responsive to commands from an electronic control unit. The variator input shaft is drivingly connected to the input shaft and the variator output shaft is drivingly connected to the output shaft. The clutching element selectively connects and disconnects the input shaft and the mixer gear set to operate the transmission in a power splitting mode of operation and a variator only mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 7011231
Abstract: A cup-dispensing apparatus and system is disclosed that utilizes a front piece that comprises a side-access port into which is reversibly inserted a cup-dispensing insert. This front piece/cup-dispensing insert assembly may be manufactured separately from or integral with other components of a cup-dispensing unit. The cup-dispensing unit comprises a flexible gasket or other cup retaining means that retains the last of a stack of cups in place, against an opposing cup-advancing force developed within the cup-dispensing unit. The use of the side-access port provides for improved performance, maintenance, repair, and aesthetic qualities.

  • Patent number: 7001834
Abstract: A packaged IC includes an IC die with signal and signal complement traces positioned relative to each other to maximize broadside coupling for a matching impedance. The signal and signal complement traces are electrically connected to transmission or receive channels of the IC die. Use of a broadside coupled trace configuration alleviates routing congestion in an IC package and permits an IC to accommodate a greater number of channels within a given surface area than is possible under the prior art.

  • Patent number: 6991401
Abstract: Landfill compactor vehicles having wheels equipped with wedge shaped cleats tend to accumulate about the vehicle's axle trash such as cable, wire, rope and the like debris requiring daily removal to permit unobstructed axle rotation. The wheel construction of this invention provides compaction cleats of two types, contour and traction, in rows positioned across the width of the wheel with substantially no cleat free zone adjacent the wheel edges but with a row of contour teeth arranged adjacent the wheel's inner edge thus affording trash exclusion properties to the compactor wheel.

  • Patent number: 6988557
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a sealing apparatus for isolating a wellbore. In one aspect, the present invention provides an expandable sealing apparatus having an expandable tubular and a sealing element disposed around the tubular. A chamber for maintaining a fluid is defined between the sealing element and the tubular. The sealing apparatus also includes a self-isolating layer disposed in the chamber, wherein the self-isolating layer is adapted and arranged to regulate fluid flow through the chamber. Fluid supplied to the chamber may inflate the sealing element, thereby urging the sealing element into contact with the wellbore. When the pressure in the tubular is released, the pressure in the chamber causes the self-isolating layer to close off, thereby retaining the pressure in the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20050282675
Abstract: A hybrid powertrain system includes a first prime mover having an output, a multi-ratio transmission having an input, and a second prime mover having an output connected to the first prime mover output through a first power path and to the transmission input through a second power path. The first power path receives power from the second prime mover during a first operating mode to drive rotation of the transmission input and the second power path receives power from the second prime mover during a second operating mode to drive rotation of the first prime mover output. The second prime mover output is configured to rotate in a first direction in the first operating mode to transmit power to the first power path and in a second direction in the second operating mode to transmit power to the second power path.
