    Abstract: A multi-mode laser-based bar code symbol reading device having a hand-supportable housing with a light transmission aperture, wherethrough visible light can exit and enter the hand-supportable housing. A laser scanning engine, disposed within the hand-supportable housing, is controlled to selectively operate in either an omni-directional reading mode or a uni-directional bar code reading mode. In the omni-directional bar code reading mode, the laser scanning engine projects pattern through the light transmission aperture, an omni-directional laser scanning pattern producing multiple laser scanning lines with substantially uniform spatial and temporal intensity characteristics at any given scanning plane parallel to the light transmission aperture within the working distance of the system, and detects and decodes bar code symbols on objects passing through the omni-directional scanning pattern, and produces symbol character data representative of decoded bar code symbols.

    Abstract: A method of operating a distributed call progress tone detection system. In one embodiment, the method includes: (1) receiving requests from an application over said packet network and transmitting transmit call and control processing commands to a switching partition via a main control unit, (2) providing an interface to corresponding access nodes via line interface modules, (3) generating a call on a first of said line interface modules, (4) employing an input-output distributor to interconnect a call progress tone detector and said first of said line interface modules to allow said call progress tone detector to perform a call progress tone detection analysis and generate an indication thereof with respect to said first of said line interface modules and (5) creating an interconnection between said first of said line interface modules and a second of said line interface modules based on said indication via said input-output distributor and notifying said application of said interconnection.

The objective measurements can be combined in various ways to assess the extent of the disease and can be used to adjust treatment protocols.

    Abstract: A system and method for remote analysis and control of test and measurement devices for diagnosis and troubleshooting problems for users of the test and measurement devices. The remote analysis and control tool kit includes a processing device with a modem that is connected to a video camera. The video camera provides video images through the processing device back through the modem so that the remote analysis and control tool kit may transmit video across a network to a call center systems engineer. The remote analysis and control tool kit also includes control software that enables a systems engineer to provide control instructions to the test and measurement device and the system under test, and request status data from both the test and measurement device and the system under test.

    Abstract: Polymer-containing, crosslinked, durable press 100% cotton, high-cotton blend, and other cellulosic fabrics are given a durable pucker without steaming by treatment with a rewetting agent, followed by drying, printing with a caustic printing paste permitting the printed fabric to develop a pucker at room temperature in a substantially tension-free state, and washing. Alternatively, the application of the rewetting agent can be bypassed by adding compatible wetting agents directly to the printing paste. The present process is also compatible with pigment printing processes so that caustic printing and pigment printing can be combined, the cold-puckered fabric being dried and then heated to set the pigment vehicle.
