  • Publication number: 20070244319
Abstract: Bidentate phosphine-nitrogen ligands are disclosed which include a phosphine linked with a nitrogen heterocycle through a chiral ferrocene backbone. The ligands can include an imidazole or a dihydroimidazole linked to the ferrocene through the 2-position. Ligands can be prepared with or without additional chirality in the heterocycle. The ligands are useful for asymmetric catalysis, such as for palladium-catalyzed asymmetric allylation and ruthenium-catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation, affording products with high enantioselectivities.

    Publication date: October 18, 2007
    Inventors: Neil Boaz, James Ponasik
  • Publication number: 20070020418
Abstract: Generation of acetaldehyde from a polyethylene terephthalate resin migrating to a vapor space between the contents of a container and the container closure may be controlled by the addition of acetaldehyde scavenging additives to the closure polymer or to a liner polymer in direct contact with the vapor space.

    Publication date: January 25, 2007
    Inventors: Earl Howell, James Ponasik
  • Publication number: 20060178490
Abstract: Catalyst compositions useful for the polymerization or oligomerization of olefins are disclosed. Certain of the catalyst compositions comprise N-pyrrolyl substituted nitrogen donors. Also disclosed are processes for the polymerization or oligomerization of olefins using the catalyst compositions.

  • Publication number: 20050090381
Abstract: Catalyst compositions useful for the polymerization of olefins are disclosed. These compositions comprise a Group 8-10 metal complex comprising a bidentate or variable denticity ligand comprising one or two nitrogen donor atom or atoms independently substituted by an aromatic or heteroaromafic ring(s), wherein the ortho positions of said ring(s) are substituted by aryl or heteroaryl groups. Also disclosed are processes for the polymerization of olefins using the catalyst compositions.
