  • Patent number: 8367265
Abstract: A solid oxide fuel cell includes an anode layer, an electrolyte layer over the anode layer, and a cathode layer over the electrolyte layer. At least one of the anode layer and the cathode layer defines a gas manifold. The gas manifold includes a gas inlet, defined by an edge of the anode layer or cathode layer, a gas outlet, defined by the same or a different edge of the anode layer or cathode layer, and a plurality of gas flow channels in fluid communication with the gas inlet and gas outlet. The gas flow channels can have diameters that conduct flow of gas from the gas inlet at substantially equal flow rates among the gas flow channels.

  • Publication number: 20100151345
Abstract: A solid oxide fuel cell includes an anode layer, an electrolyte layer over the anode layer, and a cathode layer over the electrolyte layer, wherein at least one of the anode layer and the cathode layer defines at least one gas channel, the gas channel containing at least one support structure. The support structure can have a cross-sectional shape of an I-beam, an arch, a tube defining holes along its length, a porous cylinder, or a U-shaped brace. The support structure can be open at a portion of the gas channel most proximate to the electrolyte layer.

  • Patent number: 7278851
Abstract: A model and die system includes a working quadrant having an upper flat surface. Pin-receiving tapered bores are formed in the upper flat surface and a thin metallic foil covers the bores. Cast teeth are supported by the working quadrant and each cast tooth has at least one tapered pin depending from it. Each pin includes a tapered main body that matches the taper of the tapered bore, a reduced diameter section of the same taper that accommodates torn or ruptured foil, an annular ramp section that sharply crimps the foil about the entry of the tapered bore, and a tapered rim that matches the taper of the tapered bore to lock the pin into its fully seated position.

  • Patent number: 6932608
Abstract: A model and die system has a working quadrant of parallelepiped construction and a opposing quadrant of the same construction. The working quadrant has an upper flat surface disposed in confronting relation to a lower flat surface of the opposing quadrant. Pin-receiving bores are formed in the working quadrant and mounting members depend from the opposing quadrant. Each cast tooth supported by the working quadrant has a pin depending from it and is fully seatable against the upper flat surface. Each cast tooth mounted on the upper flat surface is secured to a mounting post that depends from the upper flat surface. In a first embodiment, the quadrants are held in spaced apart, adjustable vertical relation to one another by a pair of parallel guideposts. In a second embodiment, an articulated hinge performs that function. In a third embodiment, a semicircular base opposes a semicircular top member.

  • Patent number: 6384893
Abstract: A system for automating the control of movie display electronics in a cinema. The system includes a cinema controller which receives as input information regarding start times of movies and the contents of corresponding film reels. The content of the film reel contains a plurality of elements of varying durations and formats. Using the input information, the controller determines the times of play of the different elements and sends the appropriate signals to the appropriate digital cinema processor to perform format changes, sound level changes, etc. in the projection room without operator intervention.
