  • Publication number: 20130331472
Abstract: The Broadhead Block is comprised of a closed cell, cross linked, polyethylene foam. The block is cut in the form of a cube that can be held in one's hand while being used. It has multiple sides to allow a number of objects to be secured into each side as desired. The closed cell construction of the polyethylene allows for continued penetrations with a long lasting durability. Thus providing means to loosen or tighten broad heads on the shaft of the arrow, while acting as a protective shield from the sharp blades. It acts as a wrench allowing one to grip the block instead of the sharp or broken broad heads while performing either installation or removal of said blades or broad head points from arrows.

  • Patent number: 8514547
Abstract: A wet electrolytic capacitor that contains a sintered anode positioned with an interior space of a metal casing is provided. The anode and metal casing are of a size such that the anode occupies a substantial portion of the volume of the interior space. More particularly, the anode typically occupies about 70 vol. % or more, in some embodiments about 75 vol. % or more, in some embodiments from about 80 vol. % to about 98 vol. %, and in some embodiments, from about 85 vol. % to 95 vol. % of the interior space. Among other things, the use of an anode that occupies such a large portion of the interior space enhances volumetric efficiency and other electrical properties of the resulting capacitor.

  • Patent number: 8477479
Abstract: A relatively thin planar anode for use in a wet electrolytic capacitor is provided. An anode leadwire is embedded within the anode and extends in a longitudinal direction therefrom. The wire may be formed from any electrically conductive material, such as tantalum, niobium, aluminum, hafnium, titanium, etc., as well as electrically conductive oxides and/or nitrides of thereof. To reduce the tendency of the leadwire to pull out of the anode due to stresses encountered during manufacturing (e.g., sintering) and/or use of the capacitor, the manner in which the wire is inserted is selectively controlled in the present invention. That is, at least a portion of the wire within the anode is bent at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the wire. This “bend” reduces the ease to which the wire can be pulled out in the longitudinal direction after the anode is pressed and sintered.

  • Patent number: 8422701
Abstract: A distributed audio signal processing system having a plurality of linked audio signal processing units is disclosed. Each audio signal processing unit has physical channels for receiving and sending local audio signals and a high bandwidth interface for exchanging audio signals with other linked audio signal processing units. Each of the physical channels of each of the audio signal processing units are mapped to a corresponding global channel. The audio signal processing system provides a tightly integrated, distributed signal processing matrix where any input signal or physical channel on any one of the signal processing units can be exchanged with any other of the linked audio signal processing units, thereby providing maximum flexibility for selecting signals to mix and determining how to process the signals.

  • Patent number: 8331005
Abstract: A method for providing feed forward compensation in a drive signal for a rapid resonant frequency change due to a rapid LASER intensity change upon a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) mirror and/or a surrounding MEMS structure in a MEMS scanner causing a mirror temperature change is provided. The method includes determining an intensity factor for at least one laser beam projected onto the MEMS scanner and adjusting a drive frequency of the drive signal based on the intensity factor. The intensity could represent a single intensity factor for multiple laser beams projected onto the MEMS scanner. The method could also include delaying the adjustment of the drive frequency to allow the resonant frequency change to take affect in the MEMS scanner. Delaying the adjustment could include delaying delivery of the intensity factor such that the intensity factor is provided coincident with the resonant frequency change of the MEMS scanner.
