  • Publication number: 20130250121
Abstract: A video compositing device includes a communication device that communicates with a video receiver station over a network and receives video streams from various video sources. The compositing device stores configuration settings, which indicate the size, position, zoom and/or color depth for views in a composite image that is formed from the video streams. The compositing device uses the video streams to generate the composite image as indicated by the configuration settings and transmits the composite image to the video receiver station. The compositing module also receives from the video receiver station information indicating a change in one or more one of the size, position, zoom or color depth of a selected view in the composite image, and then updates the configuration settings to reflect these changes. Subsequent composited images are generated in accordance with the updated configuration settings.

  • Patent number: 8349278
Abstract: Apparatus (1) for withdrawing respective liquid samples from vials (2) which are closed by closure caps (4) includes a plurality of racks (7) for accommodating the vials (2). A device (10) including a housing (25) is slideably carried on a gantry (9) which in turn is slideably carried on guide tracks (12) to provide two degrees of movement of the device (10) for selective alignment of the device (10) with the vials (2). An abutment member (43) is driven vertically by a second gearwheel (51) by a drive shaft (27) through a first gearwheel (40) and a dog clutch (52). A cannula which is secured within a first gear rack (33) is driven vertically by the first gearwheel (40). On engagement of the abutment member (43) with the closure cap (4) of the selected vial (2), the clutch (52) decouples the second gearwheel (51) from the first gearwheel (40) so that the cannula (28) is urgeable through the closure cap (4) into the vial (2).

  • Patent number: 8278787
Abstract: A motor includes a base plate and an armature having two or more arms mounted to the base plate for rotation about an axis. At least two powerstroke solenoids are positioned on each arm for applying force effecting first rotational motion of the armature. At least one reset solenoid is positioned on each arm for applying force effecting second rotational motion of the armature opposite the first rotational motion. Means are provided for sequentially applying current to the powerstroke solenoids and then to the reset solenoids to effect an oscillating motion of the armature. Further means are provided for transferring the first rotational motion to a disk cylinder rotatably mounted to the base plate for rotation about the axis, but for restraining the transfer of the second rotational motion to the disk cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20120226375
Abstract: A control strategy for producing high quality extrudates, including the steps of monitoring the temperature of a ceramic precursor batch by measuring the temperature of the batch material either directly or indirectly by measuring the temperature of a component of the extruder proximate to the die and transmitting the temperature data to an extrusion control system which comprises a master controller (106), at least one slave controller (110) and an optional supervisory controller. The supervisory controller determines batch temperature setpoint (102) in order to achieve the desired temperatures for extruding a certain type of batch material based on real time temperature inputs and stored parameters such as batch composition, process throughput, extruder cooling capacity, and the like.
