    Abstract: A method of making a composite moulding includes providing a base (12) having a through bore, a clamping ring (8) and a fitting (1). The method includes the following steps:— a) placing the base (12) on top of a fibre pack (27), b) placing a plastic film (16) over the base (12) and the fibre pack (27), c) engaging the clamping ring (8) with the base (12) in such manner that the plastic film (16) is clamped in sealing engagement with the base (12), d) removing that part (21) of the plastic film (16) that extends over the bore in the base (12), and e) engaging the fitting (1) with the base (12) in sealing engagement with the base (12) and the clamping ring (8).

Any leakage from the high-pressure seal feeds back into an inlet area of the pump and recycles through the pump instead of leaking externally.
