Abstract: Disclosed herein are CRISPR-associated transposons (CASTs), which co-opt Cas genes for RNA-guided transposition. Disclosed herein are new families of CASTs, including a non-Tn7 CAST. These CASTs are useful in a variety of gene editing applications, so also disclosed herein are methods of using the CASTs.

Abstract: Disclosed is an article for use with apparatus for heating smokable material to volatilize at least one component of the smokable material. The article includes a smokable material, such as tobacco, and a heater for heating the smokable material. The heater comprises heating material that is heatable by penetration with a varying magnetic field. The heating material has a Curie point temperature that is less than the combustion temperature of the smokable material.

Abstract: A fin arrangement for a surf craft includes a base coupling portion to couple the fin arrangement to the surf craft; a central fin having a central fin base portion, the central fin coupled to the base coupling portion to extend substantially perpendicularly away from an underside of the surf craft; a first side fin coupled to the central fin base portion and extending away from the central fin and the surf craft at a first acute angle to the central fin; and a second side fin coupled to the central fin base portion and extending away from the central fin and the surf craft at a second acute angle to the central fin, the second acute angle being substantially the same as the first acute angle, and a projecting lobe extending rearwardly from the base of the central fin.

Abstract: An external frame for a heat exchanger, the external frame being for holding a heat exchanger core; wherein the external frame is a single integrated structure including: inlet and outlet couplings for connection to a first fluid circuit for supply and return of a first fluid to the heat exchanger core; a first tank at a first end of the external frame for fluid communication with a first end of the heat exchanger core; a second tank at a second end of the external frame for fluid communication with a second end of the heat exchanger core; and a gallery extending along the external frame between the first tank and the second tank providing fluid communication between the first tank and the second tank; wherein the external frame is arranged to be sealed to the heat exchanger core so that the first fluid flows from the inlet, through the heat exchanger core and the tanks, and to the outlet.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for pet hygiene management that facilitates the collecting and disposing of pet excrement. The present invention comprises a tube assembly with a plurality of bands at one end for holding, opening and closing a receptacle into which pet excrement is deposited. The opening and closing of such receptacle is facilitated by a pair of sliders that are attached to the respective bands and which sliders are coaxially and reciprocally slidingly mounted on the tube. The apparatus can also be provided with a positioning support and wheel assembly that facilitates the placement and positioning of the receptacle near the pet during the use of the apparatus.
