  • Publication number: 20160227869
Abstract: A workout system is provided. The workout system includes a pair of shoes and a handheld device. The pair of shoes may include an electronic chip. The electronic chip may have an impact detector to detect the amount of steps taken by the shoes. The electronic chip may further include a wireless transceiver. The handheld device includes a processor, a wireless transceiver, a global positioning system (GPS), and a monitor. The transceiver of the handheld device exchanges data with the transceiver of the shoes. The processor processes data from the transceiver and the GPS and displays the data on the monitor. The monitor may display at least one of an amount of impacts detected by the impact detector, a location of the handheld device, a distance traveled of the handheld device, and a speed of the handheld device.

  • Patent number: 6416089
Abstract: A portable door lock comprises a jam plate connected through a hinge to a latch plate through a hinge that allows the latch plate to swing from a lock position alongside a door to an unlock position alongside a door jam when the portable door lock is installed in a door jam recess between a door and a door jam so the lock can remain installed yet allow the door to be opened for normal use or locked. A jam plate tongue extends orthogonally from the jam plate adjacent a jam plate hole sized to receive a door latch striker therethrough. Preferably two opposing upper and lower hooks opening in opposite directions swivel on the latch plate on a pivot pin in a plane parallel to the latch plate one hook applicable for a right-hinged door, the other for a left-hinged door. The hooks also may wrap and hook a doorknob shank from above and below.

  • Patent number: 5339879
Abstract: A pneumatic tire having a tread, a pair of sidewalls each terminating in an annular bead area, and a pair of beads located within the bead areas, for mounting the tire on a rim. Each of the beads is formed by at least one strand of metallic wire wound upon itself into a spiral and terminating in inner and outer ends, which ends circumferentially overlap each other. The beads are placed in the tire so that the spiral orientation of the beads are opposite to each other and the inner ends of the beads are in substantial axial alignment to reduce radial force variations on the tire.
