  • Patent number: 10772702
Abstract: A surgical lighting apparatus for illuminating a surgical environment includes a lighthead and a control unit. The control unit is configured to receive data from sensors positioned in one or more light emitting modules and identify, from the received data, an obstruction inhibiting delivery of a predetermined amount of light from one or more of light emitting elements of moveable light emitting modules to corresponding areas of a surgical site. The lighthead is configured to illuminate the surgical site. The lighthead includes a plurality of the light emitting modules and the sensors. Each of the light emitting modules includes a plurality of the light emitting elements positioned on a front side thereof. Each of the light emitting elements is configured to emit the predetermined amount of light from the light emitting modules to illuminate one of the corresponding areas of the surgical site.

  • Publication number: 20060135178
Abstract: A radio frequency transmission device including electronic circuitry. A digital logic circuit is alternate-able from a sleep mode to an active mode after a pre-determined time period, and back to the sleep mode immediately after transmission of a digital signal. The digital signal includes a unique and pre-determined sequence of fixed length pulses routed to a transmission circuit to transmit a radio signal in a specific frequency range. An output display signal from the output circuitry is displayed with an LED. An input circuitry is manually activated. A radio frequency signal is received with a receiver circuitry, sensed to determine if the received signal has a compatible characteristic of an expected signal. The radio frequency signal is converted into a digital form and sent to the microprocessor. Every associated transmitter device is tracked with a counter maintained by a microprocessor. Personnel, belongings and pets can be tracked with this device.

  • Patent number: 6608236
Abstract: There is provided a distribution material for personal care products which is a fabric which wicks artificial menses according to a horizontal wicking test a distance of about 1 inch in less than about 1.5 minutes. Materials meeting this performance criteria generally have a pore size distribution with a high percentage (usually more than 50 percent) of pore diameters between about 80 and 400 microns and a density below about 0.15 g/cc. There is also provided a personal care product system having a distribution/retention layer and a pad shaping layer wherein each layer has a stain length ratio of 0.5 or less and the distribution/retention layer has a saturation profile of 4 or less.

  • Patent number: 6052847
Abstract: A mattress having a wedge-shaped mattress body with an inclined upper surface, the upper surface divided by a transverse breast concavity into a head-supporting portion and a body-supporting portion. The mattress has a flat position in which the concavity is open to receive breasts as well as an upright position in which the concavity functions as a hinging mechanism and the mattress is held in the upright position by adjustable mechanisms. In the flat position the mattress may be used in the prone position, laying on the back, or in a yoga position. In the upright position, the mattress may be used laying on the back and partially sitting upright, or, by adjusting the position of the mattress, sitting upright.
