  • Patent number: 9174800
Abstract: This disclosure describes a device and system for verifying the content of items in a bin within a materials handling facility. In some implementations, a bin content verification apparatus may pass by one or more bins and capture images of those bins. The images may be processed to determine whether the content included in the bins has changed since the last time images of the bins were captured. A determination may also be made as to whether a change to the bin content was expected and, if so, if the determined change corresponds with the expected change.

  • Patent number: 9173723
Abstract: A cradle, assembly, system and method for installing a prosthesis at a surgical site. The cradle temporarily engages the prosthesis and holds it in the correct orientation and position adjacent the surgical site. An aperture is defined in the cradle and a portion of the prosthesis is received therein. In one embodiment, the cradle, assembly and system are used to install a final dental prosthesis in a patient's mouth in a single visit to the dentist's office. A securement member pins the surgical template and subsequently the cradle to the jaw. A metal sub-structure on the final dental prosthesis is received in the aperture in the cradle. Cylinders attached to implants anchored in the jaw extend through holes in the sub-structure and are bonded to the prosthesis. The cradle is detached from the jaw and from the prosthesis prior to screws being re-inserted through the cylinders and into the implants.

  • Patent number: 9178801
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for automatically discovering services in computer networks. A service node comprising a control unit and an interface may implement the techniques. The control unit determines services provided by the service node and generates a routing protocol message that includes service discovery information related to the services. The interface transmits the routing protocol message to enable network devices of the network to discover the services provided by the service node based on the service discovery information. The interface then receives traffic via a path established based on the service discovery information included in the routing protocol message and configured so that the service node applies at least one of the services to the traffic received via the path. The control unit then applies the one or more services to the traffic received via the path.

  • Publication number: 20150310451
Abstract: Various structures and methods are described herein to track driving of a restricted driver. In an example, an additional criterion is also tracked, which can be an authorized driving supervisor in the vehicle. This criterion is separate from the driving data and is used to meet the requirements of a licensing agency. The criterion can be the presence of a licensed driver in the vehicle, e.g., in the front passenger seat, with the restricted driver. The vehicle can use its onboard sensors and computing system to determine that a licensed driver is supervising the driving of the restricted driver.

  • Publication number: 20150309546
Abstract: Two computing elements (1) are located in a tank (2) containing impure water (3), which acts as a coolant. Two electrodes (4) receive electrical power from terminals (5) and supply an electric current to the water (3). Each computing element (1) comprises a housing (11) of generally cuboid shape. Each of the corners of the housing (11) is chamfered such that each of the six cuboid sides has a plane facet (12) and chamfered facets (13, 14). Electrodes (16) are provided in pairs on opposite facets (12). A potential difference is applied to the electrodes (4) and thus between electrodes (16). The electrical conductivity of the water (3) provides current flow through the water to power the computing elements (1), each of which has relatively low power consumption. Communication between computing elements (1) is also effected via the electrodes (16).
