  • Patent number: 12134090
Abstract: A method of conducting oxidation in an inflatable bag bioreactor or a batch reactor is provided. The inflatable bag bioreactor or the batch reactor is used as an efficient, economical, and convenient reaction vessel. The inflatable bag bioreactor or batch reactor is rotated or rocked during the reaction to ensure continued exposure of the reaction mixture to the headspace gas in the vessel. The ability of the inflatable bag to expand or contract as the volume of the contents changes helps maintain consistent pressure and avoids the need to replenish the headspace gas.

  • Patent number: 12134094
Abstract: An interface for a microfluidic device such as a microfluidic cassette has a seal portion moveable from a first position to a second position within a reservoir in response to an applied force. Movement of the seal portion within the reservoir causes the volume of the reservoir to increase. The interface also has a hollow needle with a first end and a second end, the first end locatable in fluid communication with the reservoir and the second end located outside of the reservoir and arranged for piercing. The seal portion and the needle are arranged such that when the seal portion moves from the first position to the second position, a predetermined volume of fluid is drawn through the needle into the reservoir.

  • Publication number: 20240361027
Abstract: This application relates to a building energy analysis and management system for measurement and verification of building performance. The system can analyze, optimize, manage, maintain, trouble shoot, and/or modify building systems, such as HVAC systems, in connection with the building energy usage. Measurements may be gathered for one or more HVAC units coupled to pressure independent valves, and sent to one or more Surge Panels that pass data to remote analysis servers, which can receive other system or external data. The analysis servers compare measurements to predicted values and can standardize the predicted values to account for external conditions. The comparison can result in difference values used to generate probable causes and optimization recommendations. The system outputs reports or other data display using a graphical user interface that can be adjusted for an anticipated user.

  • Publication number: 20240364902
Abstract: A method of decoding a plurality of coding units from a bitstream to produce an image frame, the coding units being the result of decompositions of coding tree units, the plurality of coding units forming one or more contiguous portions of the bitstream. The method comprises determining a subdivision level for each portion of the bitstream, each subdivision level being applicable to the coding units of the respective contiguous portion of the bitstream; decoding a quantisation parameter delta for each of a number of areas, each area based on decomposition of coding tree units into coding units of each contiguous portion of the bitstream and the corresponding determined subdivision level; determining a quantisation parameter for each area according to the decoded delta quantisation parameter for the area and the quantisation parameter of an earlier coding unit of the image frame; decoding using the determined quantisation parameter of each area.

  • Publication number: 20240359248
Abstract: Described herein are examples of welding technique monitoring systems that provide lightweight, self-contained, and highly portable means of monitoring welding technique and/or providing technique feedback. The systems use a portable support platform that can be easily transported to different welding stations/sites, providing a marked advantage over legacy monitoring systems that use heavy welding stands that are difficult to move. After an initial calibration, the systems can consistently and repeatedly monitor welding technique relative to a particular joint with no additional calibration necessary, even if there is sensor and/or platform movement. The systems are additionally able to detect a welding-type operation without the need to communicate with welding equipment. The systems are further configured for use with existing (rather than potentially expensive custom) welding-type tools, thereby keeping the systems low cost and highly portable.
