  • Publication number: 20200215190
Abstract: A liquid crystal nanoparticle (LCNP)-based system allows for the encapsulation and targeted delivery of Zinc (II) phthalocyanine (ZnPC) to the plasma membrane bilayer of living cells for photodynamic therapy (PDT). The formulation comprises LCNPs that are loaded in their hydrophobic core with perylene (PY) and ZnPC. In embodiments, the LCNP surface is functionalized with Poly(ethylene glycol)-cholesterol conjugates (PEG-Chol) and/or another material enabling targeting the particle to the cellular membrane. This can improve cell killing via reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation as it allows for the localized ROS-mediated peroxidation of lipids in the membrane bilayer.

  • Publication number: 20200219501
Abstract: A method performed by a computing system for directing a voice command to a function associated with a visual target includes receiving a set of time-variable sensor-based data streams, including an audio data stream and a targeting data stream. The targeting data stream is stored in a buffer as buffered targeting data. Presence of a spoken utterance is identified within the audio data stream and is associated with a temporal identifier corresponding in time to the set of sensor-based data streams. A voice command corresponding to the spoken utterance is identified. A visual targeting vector within the buffered targeting data and a visual target of that visual targeting vector is identified at a time corresponding to the temporal identifier. The voice command is directed to a function associated with the visual target to generate an output.

  • Publication number: 20200218232
Abstract: According to some embodiments, an operating environment measurement of an industrial asset may be received from at least one sensor. A high-fidelity physics-based model may represent operational performance of the industrial asset and the performance's dependency on the operating environment measurement. A surrogate model creation engine may automatically create a surrogate model of the industrial asset based on the operating environment measurement and results from the high-fidelity physics-based model. An optimization platform may receive the surrogate model and use the surrogate model along with an optimization algorithm to generate a set of optimized fluid flow control system parameters for the industrial asset. In this way, a fluid flow control system may be designed to improve the performance of the industrial asset.
