Abstract: A vehicle monitoring device includes a camera or other optical sensor configured to be disposed at a trailing end of a first vehicle system. The camera or other optical sensor is configured to output one or more images or video of a field of view behind the first vehicle system. The monitoring device also includes a controller configured to receive output from one or more sensors and to activate the camera or other optical sensor to output the one or more images or video based on the output from the one or more sensors. The output from the one or more sensors indicates one or more of a change in movement of the first vehicle system, a temperature, an acoustic sound, or movement of a second vehicle system.

Abstract: Using a graphical user interface (GUI), a user is guided to generate a logical graph that represents how real data is generated in a situation. The situation is simulated using an artificial intelligence (AI) model a number of times by having the AI model choose paths through the logical graph to generate synthetic data that is representative of the real data. The AI model may also use a reward table that the user is guided to generate via the GUI to execute the simulation, wherein the reward table incentivizes certain paths of the logical graph, and agents of the AI model are trained using the values of this reward table. This synthetic data generated via the AI model can be used for training other AI models.

Abstract: A lift is coupled to the outer cab of a telescoping bridge. The lift has a carriage that can be moved by a cable and a motor upward or downward and which includes a platform that has sensing means for controlling the motor for stopping downward movement of the carriage when it engages the ground. An electrically operated safety catch is provided to prevent the carriage from falling in the event the cable breaks. A safety system is provided which prevents the bridge from moving if the carriage is not in the up position and its door is not closed.

Abstract: A pipe severing device (1) and method utilizing a chain (13) having stress inducing wheels (19) efficiently and safely severs brittle materials including cast iron, vitreous clay, cement and asbestos pipe. The device includes an actuating handle (6) which pivots over a pipe support surface (3). Upon pivoting over the surface, holddown arms (7) attached to the actuating handle frictionally grasp a pipe. The handle may then pivot about a second point or remain rigid, in either case engaging a first limit switch (25) which actuates a hydraulic cylinder (35). The hydraulic cylinder tightens the chain causing the stress inducing wheels to create stress concentration points around the circumference of the pipe. Cracks propagate between stress concentration points, quickly severing the pipe. The pipe support surface includes resilient pads (5a,b) which further frictionally grasp the pipe.
