  • Patent number: 10720248
Abstract: In a pressurized water reactor (PWR), emergency core cooling (ECC) responds to depressurization due to a vessel penetration break at the top of the pressure vessel by draining water from a body of water through an injection line into the pressure vessel. A barrier operates concurrently with the ECC to suppress flow of liquid water from the pressure vessel out the vessel penetration break. The barrier may comprise one or more of: (1) an injection line extension passing through the central riser to drain water into the central riser; (2) openings in a lower portion of a central riser to shunt some upward flow from the central riser into a lower portion of the downcomer annulus; and (3) a surge line providing fluid communication between a pressurizer volume at the top of the pressure vessel and the remainder of the pressure vessel which directs water outboard toward the downcomer annulus.

  • Patent number: 5579288
Abstract: A wristwatch display package is made using two elongated sheet members of transparent plastic joined end-to-end by a flexible hinge. The sheets are folded together, nested and sealed together around the peripheral edges. An elongated display card having printing thereon is disposed between the sheet members and within the sealed peripheral edges. The card has a window for displaying a portion of a wristwatch. The sheet members have protrusions which together form an arcuate cavity. The arcuate cavity is surrounded by the window in the display card and adapted to receive a wristwatch.

  • Patent number: 4941571
Abstract: A wrench socket holder molded from resilient, flexible plastic material of substantially uniform thickness and having an elongated base portion reinforced by a plurality of ribs. A longitudinally spaced apart series of trapezoidal shape wrench retaining members mounted on stems project upwardly from the upper surface of the base portion. Each resilient flexible wrench retaining member is adapted for forcible entry into the handle receiving opening of an associated wrench socket element to resiliently grip and frictionally engage and releasably retain the wrench socket element in assembly with the holder.

  • Patent number: 4805765
Abstract: A counter display package for dispensing small articles comprises a generally rectangular carton containing a drawer which forms a bottom portion of the carton. A tear-away panel in the front wall of the carton is removed to expose a drawer opening through which the drawer is pulled from a closed to an open position. A chute wall hingedly connected to the drawer extends a substantial distance above the drawer and is disposed within the carton and generally adjacent the rear wall of the carton when the drawer is closed. The chute panel is retained in the latter position by loosely packed small articles contained within the carton. When the drawer is opened the chute panel assumes a position wherein it is forwardly and downwardly inclined from the carton rear wall to the drawer. The inclined chute wall cooperates with portions of the carton front and side walls to form a hopper for directing small articles from the upper portion of the carton into the drawer.
