  • Publication number: 20240098108
Abstract: A cluster of network flows is formed on the basis of a particular entity-to-entity relationship, and individual network flows within the cluster are further identified on an application-by-application basis to better characterize communications between two compute instances connected through a data network. By individually scoring network flows for each application with a variety of tools, and aggregating these individual scores into a composite score for the cluster of network flows, more accurate threat detections can be supported based on an increase in relevant threat data and a more complete view of risk factors.

  • Patent number: 7195083
Abstract: A steering assembly includes upper and lower tubular housings connected by a universal joint. An angle cam is disposed on the end of the lower housing and projects into the upper housing. A plurality of wedge members extend axially from the upper housing and into engagement with the angle cam. Drive trains are connected to the wedge members to move the wedge members toward and away from the angle cam so as to pivot the lower housing at the universal joint and change the angle and azimuth of the lower housing with respect to the upper housing. The lower housing is connected to a bearing pack supporting a drill bit such that upon changing the angle and azimuth of the lower housing, the direction of the drilling of the drill bit is also changed. The steering assembly being connected to composite tubing having conductors in the wall thereof for conducting data and commands between the steering assembly and a processor at the surface and for providing power to the steering assembly.

  • Patent number: 6863137
Abstract: A drilling system includes a work string supporting a bottom hole assembly. The work string including lengths of pipe having a non-metallic portion. The work string preferably includes a composite umbilical having a fluid impermeable liner, multiple load carrying layers, and a wear layer. Multiple electrical conductors and data transmission conductors are embedded in the load carrying layers for carrying current or transmitting data between the bottom hole assembly and the surface. The bottom hole assembly includes a bit, a gamma ray and inclinometer instrument package, a propulsion system with resistivity antenna and steerable assembly, an electronics section, a transmission, and a power section for rotating the bit. The electrical conductors in the composite umbilical provide power to the electronics section and may provide power to the power section. The data transmission conduits in the composite umbilical transmit the data from the downhole sensors to the surface where the data is processed.

  • Patent number: 6761574
Abstract: A coiled tubing connector includes a male and female housing. A rotating ring having threads is disposed on the male housing. When the male housing is joined to the female housing, the threads of the rotating ring threadingly engage threads disposed on the internal circumference of the female housing. The male housing also includes splines which align with grooves on the female housing. Situated on both the male and female housing are electrical contacts which themselves engage when the housings are joined. The electrical contacts are connected to wires embedded in the composite tubing so that electrical power or data signals from one length of composite tubing can pass through the connector to another length of coiled tubing. The ends of the composite tubing are affixed to both the male and female housings through a compression fitting.

  • Publication number: 20030118230
Abstract: An inspection system for identifying predetermined features in coiled tubing, comprising a computer system configured to execute pattern recognition software and a plurality of imaging devices configured to capture video images of coiled tubing as the tubing passes by the imaging devices. Images captured by the inspection system are transmitted to the computer system and the pattern recognition software analyzes the image, extracts features from the image, and generates an indication if a defect is identified in the images. The computer system reads a counter signal to identify the longitudinal location along the coiled tubing at which the defect is located. The counter signal may also be used to enable or disable the inspection system. The system is capable of real-time processing or post processing by optionally storing the video images. The coiled tubing includes longitudinal striping as a reference to specify the annular position of a predetermined feature.
