Publication number: 20240117495Abstract: Cold thermal chemical vapor deposition coatings, articles, and processes are disclosed. Specifically, a cold thermal chemical vapor deposition process includes positioning an article, heating a precursor gas to at least a decomposition temperature of the precursor gas to produce a deposition gas, introducing the deposition gas to a coating vessel, and depositing a coating from the deposition gas onto the article within the coating vessel. The article remains at a temperature below the decomposition temperature throughout the introducing and depositing of the deposition gas. The coating on the article has a gradient formed by the depositing of the coating having no flow for a period of time. The coated article includes a thermally-sensitive substrate (the thermally-sensitive substrate capable of being modified by a temperature of 300 degrees Celsius) and a coating the thermally-sensitive substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 13, 2020Publication date: April 11, 2024Inventors: Geoffrey K. Publication number: 20210088082Abstract: A propeller shaft assembly includes a propeller shaft extending along an axis between a first and second shaft ends. A propeller shaft yoke, such as a slip yoke, stud yoke, or flange yoke, is operably connected to one of said first or second shaft ends. The propeller shaft yoke includes a body between from a first and second yoke end and presenting a mounting surface. A tuned damper extends radially outwardly from the mounting surface to define a first damper side disposed adjacent the first yoke end and a second damper side disposed adjacent the second yoke end. A protective shoulder extends radially outwardly from the mounting surface in spaced and covering relationship with one of the first or second damper sides for protecting the tuned damper from axial forces originating from a respective first or second yoke end of the propeller shaft yoke.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2020Publication date: March 25, 2021Inventors: Carson Budde, James B. White, Robert J. Wehner

Patent number: 6799702Abstract: A liquid dispensing device including a body generally having an air passage and a liquid passage. A valve seat is connected to the body and a valve stem is mounted for movement within the body with respect to the valve seat. A piston is caused to move by pressurized air, and is caused by a spring and optionally, air pressure above the piston, to return to its normal position when the air pressure is relieved. The stem is connected to the piston so that it is caused to move linearly to and from the valve seat. The stem is not rigidly connected to the piston, allowing the piston to find its center in the air cylinder and the stem to find its center in the liquid chamber. The piston is mounted with two bearing points so that it is not affected by uneven spring pressure. The stem is located by two bearing points, the adhesive seal and the seat. The air cylinder body and valve body are separated by a large open area.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2001Date of Patent: October 5, 2004Assignee: GoPro, Inc.Inventors: Jeff L. Mercer, James B. White

Publication number: 20030110403Abstract: A power sharing circuit in a peripheral device that can combine power from both an external power supply and from an internal power supply is disclosed. The external power supply could be a computer bus, for example. The power sharing circuit has power inputs from both the computer bus and from the internal power supply, and has an output that powers the load circuitry in the peripheral device. The power sharing circuit monitors power used by the load circuitry and determines from where the power that drives the load circuitry will originate. The power can originate from either the internal or external power supply, or from a combination of the power supplies. The power sharing circuit can modify the origin of power provided to the load circuitry based on how much power it is using.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2001Publication date: June 12, 2003Applicant: Intel CorporationInventors: Randolph E. Crutchfield, James B. White

Patent number: 5672269Abstract: A filter and pressure relief assembly for an adhesive supply unit comprises an adhesive supply hopper (12), a filter basket (20) disposed within a cavity (18) defined within a filter block (16), and a filter plug (22) for retaining the filter basket (20) within the filter block (16). Inlet port (32) provides an infeed of adhesive from the hopper (12), an outlet port (36) leads to an applicator, and a return port (54) and conduit (56) return adhesive back to the hopper (12). The filter plug (22) contains a pressure relief valve (44) which opens and connects the inlet port (32) to the return port (54) and conduit (56) so as to return adhesive to the hopper (12) under over-pressurized conditions, and a pair of O-ring members (100, 102) for respectively engaging small and large diameter regions (104, 106) of the cavity (18).Type: GrantFiled: February 29, 1996Date of Patent: September 30, 1997Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventor: James B.
