  • Publication number: 20240390969
Abstract: A tooling assembly and related method of manufacture for making a push button container closure are provided. Advantageously, the tooling assembly only includes one “all in one” press station at which all score lines are cut into the blank that is being formed into the container closure. Furthermore, the profiles and features of the container closure are generally rotationally symmetrical except at the score lines, and as such, no orientation dimples or other features need to be formed in the blank or used to maintain an exact rotational position of the blank as it moves between the various press stations of the tooling assembly. As a result, the manufacturing tooling itself is easier to use and more efficient because at least one press/scoring station and the orientation equipment of conventional tooling designs are no longer necessary in this process.

  • Patent number: 11286082
Abstract: A sheet metal lid has a rim portion removably secured and sealed to a container and the lid includes a vent button having a top wall portion surrounded by a side wall portion and an outwardly projecting flange portion. The flange portion of the button has a short arcuate score or shear line extending substantially into the sheet metal, and additional score lines extend into the flange portion at lesser depths to protect a coating on the inner surface of the lid. A resilient sealant material may be bonded to the inner surface of the vent button, and the opposing sheet metal portions of the score line form a small gap for releasing a vacuum or pressure from the container in response to a controlled downward pressure on the top wall portion of the vent button.

  • Patent number: 9089005
Abstract: A control system for an oven including a plurality of heating elements positioned within the cooking cavity includes a temperature sensor configured to detect an air temperature within the cooking cavity, a user interface for receiving a desired temperature set point command, and a controller operatively coupled to the temperature sensor and user interface. The controller is configured to determine a power splitting ratio between the first and second heating elements based on user-specified cooking mode and/or type of food being cooked, determine a total power command signal based on a determined error value between the detected cavity air temperature and the desired temperature set point command, and adjust a power level of each of the first and second heating elements based on the total power command and the power splitting ratio.

  • Publication number: 20050116108
Abstract: A system and method for configuring an aircraft for low sonic boom supersonic flight conditions includes redistributing lift of a wing by configuring the wing with one or more areas of far-field expansion ahead of areas of far-field compression. An equivalent area distribution goal curve is scaled to account for the equivalent area reduction due to excursions below to goal curve. A relaxed constraint allows the equivalent area distribution of the aircraft to be at or below the equivalent area distribution goal curve to enable multiple parameters to be configured to meet the equivalent area distribution constraint, as well as other constraints. The system and method can be adapted to aid in the design of any type of vehicle whose surfaces are subject to supersonic fluid flow, especially to reduce sonic boom.
