  • Patent number: 8428781
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for controlling robotic apparatus having several movable elements or segments coupled by joints. At least one of the movable elements can include one or more mobile bases, while the others can form one or more manipulators. One of the movable elements can be treated as an end effector for which a certain motion is desired. The end effector may include a tool, for example, or represent a robotic hand (or a point thereon), or one or more of the one or more mobile bases. In accordance with the systems and methods disclosed herein, movement of the manipulator and the mobile base can be controlled and coordinated to effect a desired motion for the end effector. In many cases, the motion can include simultaneously moving the manipulator and the mobile base.

  • Publication number: 20070233280
Abstract: The specification and drawings present a new method, system and software product for and apparatus for generating a robotic validation system for a robot design. The robotic validation system for the robot design of a robotic system is automatically generated by converting a robot design into a generic robotic description using a predetermined format, then generating a control system from the generic robotic description and finally updating robot design parameters of the robotic system with an analysis tool using both the generic robot description and the control system.

  • Patent number: 7269412
Abstract: A self powered caller identification device (CID) for a cellular telephone system (CTS) includes a receiver, a transmitter and a processor, all of which being adapted to provide access to the content of a data channel and to deny access to the voice services of a voice channel. The receiver is responsive to the data signal in the data channel and the processor is responsive to identify the CID to the CTS. The CID answers a call from the CTS in response to the call being a data signal and fails to answer the call in response to an attempted connection to the voice services of the voice channel. A display at the CID is responsive to the processor to display the content of the data signal thereby identifying the caller to the user of the CID.

  • Publication number: 20060142018
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling traffic on a communications network include dynamic and flexible control plans that enable service providers to control or influence customer access to communications facilities. Communications facilities are monitored to identify network elements, such as cell sites, that are overloaded. When the traffic intensity on a particular facility exceeds a predetermined level, either active or passive control is imposed on subscribers that are in the geographic area of the facility. Active control involves blocking, delaying or disrupting subscriber calls during the critical time period. Passive control involves providing cost incentives or disincentives during low or peak periods of traffic intensity. Customers are notified of the commencement and/or termination of active or passive control preferably via SMS.
