  • Publication number: 20070228119
Abstract: An apparatus for constructing a container from a continuous blank of sheet material including a plurality of panels coupled together at a plurality of fold lines is provided. The apparatus includes a mandrel that is rotatable about a rotational axis. The mandrel includes a rotary head that defines a plurality of exterior surfaces each corresponding to a panel of the continuous blank of sheet material. The rotary head forms an opening in at least one exterior surface configured to receive at least one panel for facilitating forming the blank of sheet material into a configuration with respect to a shape of the rotary head as the mandrel rotates about the rotational axis.

  • Publication number: 20070200025
Abstract: An apparatus for feeding a material web to a machine positioned downstream of the apparatus includes a base defining an axis in a lateral direction of the base. A first roller assembly is rotatably coupled to the base at a first roller position substantially parallel with the axis and is configured to feed a first roll of material web to the machine. The first roll has a lead edge and a tail edge. A second roller assembly is rotatably coupled to the base at a second roller position substantially parallel with the axis. The second roller assembly is configured to feed a second roll of material web to the machine. The second roll has a lead edge and a tail edge. The second roll is substantially aligned in the lateral direction with the first roll. A splicing table is suspended with respect to the base. The material web advances from the first roll or the second roll and across the splicing table to the machine.

  • Publication number: 20060273145
Abstract: A reinforced bulk bin, and methods for making same, wherein a collapsible bulk bin, preferably fabricated from paper, paperboard and/or corrugated paperboard, is provided with a reinforcing plastic sleeve, which is placed on the bin while in its collapsed configuration. When in place, and prior to the bin being deployed, the sleeve is under tension. When the bin is deployed, the sleeve exerts restraining force, distributed over the surfaces of the side walls of the bin. The sleeve may be positioned on the collapsed bin either manually or mechanically.
