  • Publication number: 20240191302
Abstract: The present invention relates to assays for predicting the presence, absence or development of cancer in an individual, particularly endometrial and ovarian cancer, by determining the methylation status of certain CpGs in a population of DNA molecules in a sample which has been taken from the individual, deriving an index value based on the methylation status of the certain CpGs, and predicting the presence, absence or development of cancer in the individual based on the cancer index value. The invention further relates to a method of treating and/or prevention of cancer in an individual, particularly endometrial and ovarian cancer, the method comprising assessing the presence, absence or development of cancer in an individual by performing the assays of the invention, followed by administering one or more therapeutic treatments or measures to the individual based on the assessment.

  • Publication number: 20160353132
Abstract: In a method of video coding, in which a difference is formed between input picture values and picture prediction values and that difference is transforming with a DCT, the picture prediction is formed as: P=(1?c)Pc+CPO where PC is a closed loop predictor which is restricted to prediction values capable of exact reconstruction in a downstream decoder and PO is a spatial predictor which is not restricted to prediction values capable of exact reconstruction. The factor can vary from zero to unity depending on a variety of parameters.

  • Publication number: 20070209308
Abstract: A set of faux-stone architectural panel members can be installed to create a stone-look wall or facade. Each panel member is cast from a concrete mixture of a cement or bonding agent and a light-weight aggregate. The various panel member may have one, two or three courses, i.e., rows, with the courses being offset at their ends, so as to achieve mating tenons and voids in respect to adjacent successive panel members. The tenons and voids of the panel members interfit or dovetail at corners. A coloring agent is applied onto said stone faces of the panel members. Hanger straps are embedded in the panel members and protrude up from them for attaching to a wall substrate using drywall screws or similar fasteners.

  • Publication number: 20060185231
Abstract: A floral arranging vase cover provides enhanced decoration and for supporting floral arrangements within a vase. The floral arranging cover includes a circular ring, inner bands and outer bands. Preferably, the floral arranging cover includes four to twelve inner bands which are arcuate in shape and have first and second ends which rotatably affix to the circular ring. The outer bands are also arcuate in shape and include first and second ends which attach to the circular ring. Preferably, the outer bands project outwardly from the ring and are arranged in an overlapping manner. Moreover, the outer bands are preferably affixed to adjacent bands to prevent their rotation about the circular ring. The floral arranging cover is placed upon a vase with the circular ring substantially adjacent to the vases' rim. The inner bands project inwardly to form a grid-like structure having openings for floral and plant stems.

  • Publication number: 20060032106
Abstract: A device, fashioned and formed to secure a long shafted object, primarily, but not limited to a fishing pole. The embodiment comprises of a shaft/distal end that enters a nonimpervious surface at the shores edge. Coils are used to support the fishing poles aft handle. A support arm extending to a cradle for supporting the forward handle or backbone of the fishing pole. The user simply slides the aft portion of the pole down into the coils and rests the pole into the cradle, thus provides hands free support.

  • Patent number: 6354379
Abstract: A separation method and apparatus for separating components used in downhole well development activity, whilst in position down the well. Method and apparatus are characterized in that they do not make use of external mechanical forces, or internal fluid pressure, applied through the development apparatus to render the components in a separable state. The release is achieved through the use of a fusible metal element.
