  • Publication number: 20070252072
Abstract: An adjustable concrete pipe form comprises a metal form and an anchor assembly coupled to the metal form. The metal form preferably consists of sheet metal formed into a substantially cylindrical shape that overlaps onto itself. The anchor assembly assists in holding the metal form in position, and may raise and/or lower the metal form as needed. A plurality of eyelets may be coupled to the interior of the metal form to allow for the insertion of threaded rods along the length of the metal form. The threaded rods may be used for attaching multiple metal forms together and/or for structure and support. A cross brace may be attached to the eyelets. The cross brace may consist of opposing threaded rods coupled by a sleeve. Turning of the sleeve in a first direction draws the threaded rods inward, causing the metal form to retract; turning of the sleeve in a second direction pushes the threaded rods outward, causing the metal form to expand.

  • Publication number: 20070051898
Abstract: An ionising particle analyser comprises a source of ionising particles, a charged particle detector, and an ionisable gas located between the source and the detector. The analyser further comprises a charged particle impeding device located between the source and the detector. The charged particle impeding device is arranged to be maintained in a first configuration at a potential to impede the passage of charged particles and pass uncharged particles.

  • Publication number: 20050161612
Abstract: A method of identifying radiation detected in a wall-less proportional gas counter providing a stable pulse height spectrum. The method comprises i) transforming the detected pulse height spectrum (dn/dx) in accordance with the transform u=x1/2 where x represents the energy of the detected pulses in the original pulse height spectrum; ii) generating a normalized spectrum in u-space comprising a representation of dn/du as a function of u, where n is the detected pulse count as a function of x; iii) deconvoluting the normalized spectrum in u-space to enhance the spectrum; and iv) determining from the enhanced spectrum the energy (or energies) and/or the intensity (or intensities) of the detected radiation.

  • Patent number: 5394503
Abstract: An optical patch panel system is described wherein incoming and outgoing optical fibers are connected to fixed port locations of an optical fiber patch panel. This panel has a plurality of ports formed of optical fiber and electrical couplings. A plurality of optical fiber patch cables having end connectors are provided to operatively connect with the patch panel couplings. Each patch cable includes one or more optical fibers and one or more electrical conductors. The conductors terminate at electrical connectors that mate with the electrical couplings. The optical fibers in the patch cable terminate at optical connectors that mate with the optical couplings. The optical and electrical connectors are integrally mounted with each other so that optical engagements of optical connectors and couplings are at the same time accompanied by an electrical connection between electrical connectors and couplings.

  • Patent number: 5160073
Abstract: A backpack provided with a pack frame and pack bag for transferring a substantial portion of the loading being carried to the wearer's hips. The pack bag is suspended from the pack frame and maintained in a position diagonal to the plane of the pack frame. The point of suspension of the pack bag to the pack frame is at a point higher than the point of attachment of the shoulder straps to an upper portion of the pack bag.
