  • Publication number: 20240351020
Abstract: Systems, methods, compositions of matter, and kits for undermedia repellency are disclosed. In some cases, these involve a first volume of a first liquid presented in a second volume of a second liquid above a first location of a first surface. The first liquid, second liquid, and first location can have properties sufficient to give rise to undermedia perfect liquid repellency.

  • Patent number: 11439194
Abstract: Various examples are provided for obtaining body measurements of a user, predicting body measurements of a user, and/or the like. Examples include a coded dimensioning garment having a stretchable fabric that conforms to a wearer's body without substantial compression or distortion of the skin. The garment can include measurement markings of known sizes at one or more known locations on the fabric. Methods are provided for predicting body measurements from a user. Image(s) of a user wearing the garment in a reference pose are captured and can be uploaded to a body measurement application. The real-world dimensions can be converted to pixel dimensions in the same ratio as the real world dimensions and inputted into a prediction model to generate measurements from areas of interest on the user.

  • Patent number: 10415204
Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method is performed using a self-elevating vessel having at least one preload tank and a plurality of movable support legs each with a spudcan affixed at the base. The method comprises locating the self-elevating vessel at a first ocean environment, lowering the legs to a surface of a seafloor with a first bearing pressure requirement, and filling the at least one preload tank to a first volume that is sufficient to drive the footings into the seafloor. The first volume is different than a second volume that is a volume sufficient to drive the footings into a seafloor of a second ocean environment that has a different bearing pressure requirement than the seafloor of the first ocean environment. The preload tank is sized to have a volume capacity based on the greater bearing pressure requirement between the first and the second ocean environment.

  • Patent number: 9958432
Abstract: The invention relates to systems and methods for studying patient cancer samples in cis-co-culture with stromal cells from the same patient. For example, the invention provide systems and methods for testing therapeutic agents in vitro in an environment that simulates an in vivo environment to identify agents that are therapeutically effective for the patient.

  • Patent number: 7448267
Abstract: A machine and method for performing balancing measurements on a tire or tire/wheel assembly that includes a structure defining spaced apart tire centering and tire testing positions. A first conveyor moves a tire to a centering position where a shuttle assembly is operative to center the tire and, after it has been centered, engages the tire and effects the transfer of the tire from the centering station to a testing station. The shuttle assembly includes a pair of grippers that move towards and away from each other, in a lateral direction in order to engage the tire. The first conveyor permits movement of the tire in a lateral direction; whereas it substantially resists relative movement between the tire and conveyor in the longitudinal direction, i.e., the direction of movement of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6915684
Abstract: A method and apparatus for testing tires in a repeatable manner. Testing steps are performed in a manner that minimizes impact on the tire characteristics being measured. In one aspect, tire rotation reversal is performed at a zero crossing of a first harmonic of radial load variation exerted on a load carriage by the tire. In another aspect, load carriage retraction is performed so that the tire is unloaded when the tire stops rotating.
